How to change your profile picture / password and other help topics

Profile picture:
Just go to http://en.gravatar.com/ and register your email address that was used for registration on this forum and upload a picture. This will enable your avatar for every WordPress blog (that has gravatar enabled), every bbpress forum and many others. Just make sure you use the same email, otherwise the magic will not work.

Password:
1. Click on your name on the top left (where it says Welcome .... !).
2. Click on the edit button under the NikonRumors Forum title or just click on the link "edit this information".

Edit already posted comments:
I changed the edit post function - now you can edit your posts up to 24 hr after posting it, after that the edit button will disappear.

If you have any other questions/suggestions about this forum, please enter them here and I will try to resolve them asap.

I changed also the edit post function - now you can edit your posts up to 24 hr after posting it, after that the edit button will disappear.

As you have probably noticed, I was able to embed some of the photos in this thread. Don't freak out, I did not steal them - they are still on your server, I just linked to them.

You can also link to a photo directly by using the following example (for now only png, gif or jpeg are accepted):

Please make sure the file extension (.jpg .png .gif) is not in CAPITAL letters (just change it to lower case in the link).

In the quotes you insert the URL of the photo.
Sorry, this is probably not very user friendly but it is a quick fix. As far as I know dpreview operates on the same principle.
The above method does not work for flickr for now.

admin - can You please add border attribute to img so when using hyperlink there will be no yellow border around the image.

this weird, I don't see the border (I am using Safari on a mac) but let me investigate this further and see what I can do.

it's not visible on Safari (just checked), but if You install FF than You will see it there

ok thanks I will look into it - there is a new version of bbpress coming out soon (it is still in beta). I hope we will get some new and improved features.

Latest update: You can now add a video by just posting the link to the video: if you post a link to youtube, vimeo, etc. the video player will be automatically embedded in the post.

Hey Admin.. is it posible to change/fix the image posting feature a little as it is currently not accepting files with capital ".JPG"

It seems that some of the member names (mine included) have recently changed from yellow to white. Yellow allows you the click and link to info about the member, white does not. The only thing that I have changed recently is my avatar. What has happened?

I haven't been a member of this forum for a very long time yet, still as far as I can see, a click on the yellow coloured name takes you to your website (as set in your profile) and a click on the rating (f.e. member, admin,...) shows the member's profile.
If you don't set a link to your website in your profile, the name will be coloured white.

I added a new tag and a separate forum "photo-a-day" (tags are on the left, the forum is at the bottom of the main forum page). This will provide easy access to previous month's entries.

Also, admin, how about a feature that when you log in, it displays the time since your last activity (e.g., "your last post: 7 hours ago") so that we can know which threads we've already read? Color coding would be awesome (Red=read yellow=unread or something), but that might be too much to ask.
