As for the Sigma I really would like to play with one someday, mounting on a dx witch 2xTC body You will have a 1500/5.6 lens for a fraction of price.

The thing takes some good pictures. Don't know if any of you saw the pics he took of the model with it on his Canon 1Ds MII. They're on that page.

I've seen it, and indeed it's a really good piece of glass.

I guess it had better be considering there are many NEW cars that you can get for half that price lol

Or you could get this Canon lens.
And try handholding it. But I wouldn't dare doing it.

I saw the Canon 1200mm lens in person a couple of weeks ago at B&H. It looks much smaller in, than I thought that it would be. That said, it wouldn't be too much fun handholding it!

I could!

this canon lens is great for wildlife, unfortunately the price and mounting ain't ok

Yeah, the Canon looks great for wildlife, except you have to think like you're setting up a artillery every time you move that thing around.
I think Nikon also has a crazy zoom lens, except it's a manual focus one.
