PBPM, it took me two looks to realize that the whole photo wasn't in a palladium-scale image, is that as-shot coloration?

No, the colour is not as shot. I made it a monochrome image, except for the number plate.
Here is the color version of the falls I visited afters a huge two day storm hit us this past weekend.
Thanks Squamishphoto! I like the blur around the middle of the flower so you focus in on the seeds a fine macro shot for sure :)
Hi all,
April photos were superb. May is looking great, too!
Opening Lily Pod, Nikon D7000 100ISO, 105mm Micro Nikor (Old style) @f45) 1/320 sec 1 SB900 2 reflectors. Color corrected ACR 6.3.

My best,
Mike

Monty, great focus. So much for the people hoping for no snow pictures in May, though... ;-)
I feel quite safe, there are still some unmelted heaps of snow laying around, of course they are in places where the snowplows pushed it together and those places are in the shade.
Beautiful macro work Mike! I like the eerie green glow on the statue Pierre. It would have been even cooler if it fell on the face or upper portion of the body but nice shot regardless...
This was a nice spring day with Cherry blossoms finally coming out before Buddha's birthday:
Taken nearly two years ago...

Trying, thanks. Too bad there was a problem with your photo, I followed your link on Flickr and you have really superb macro there.

Agree, I caught the guy at the end of his shift, I guess, not enough people around so he just packed and left after that shot.
@pierre - the water is so much cleaner than real Venice :D
Hi all,
Thanks Kanuck and lovely cherry blossoms!
Nice motion bird in flight Adam and a terrific closeup Shutter!
Deathk, how did you get your desaturated colors? Your method? Looks good! And, to be clear, is the reported f11 corrected from the teleconverter? IOW, is it from the lens or the TC? I don't have a TC so I don't know how they report f-stops to EXIF data.
Wheelman Interesting shot! What is the data?
Pierre - Love that shot of the Hotel. Can you share the data? Did you use your D700?
PB PM - Where is the data on your shot? It looks like it might be de-saturated.
Elvis - Are those stamen? What did you use and the data? What was your method for de-saturation?
April's photos were, IMMHO, terrific. This month is just starting off splendidly.
It's such a joy to see.
My best to all,
Mike

I did not do any manual color adjustment. It was a clear night and there was no perceptible color cast to the moon. I shot it RAW and converted it with CS2. The 1.4x TC multiplies the f-stop by 1.4, so the constant F4 aperture changes to a constant F5.6 wide-open and you go from there. The TC has an integrated logic board. This is assuming the TC communicates with the lens correctly. I also have a Kenko Pro 300 1.4x TC that doesn't jive electronically with my Sigma 100-300 (it doesn't multiply the focal length or f-stop for correct EXIF info, and it also causes the AF to jitter back and forth over the focus plane). This is why I also have the Sigma 1.4x TC.

Actually, a 1.4 TC multiplies the F stop by 2. So yes, a f4 would be a f5.6, but 4 to 5.6 is a full stop.
If you're looking at it in regard to literal stops, yes. The numbers themselves also multiply out (funny how that works isn't it? ;) )
