Have you ever had one of those shoots that no matter what you do the model looks like she is about to wet herself. I pride myself in the photographer/model conversation relaxation dept. but this was bad. She brought her boyfriend which I dont allow but did not ask so I let it slide. (my fault) she looked nothing like her other photos gained about 30 pounds and even though she said she was "very experienced" she did not know how to pose at all.
So it went ok but felt like the shoot from hell. I wanted to hear what kind of shoot horror stories you all may have. That way I can feel better about mine.

I once had a photo session where I was told a beautiful female model would be posing nude for me to photograph. Instead a male model showed up!

We had a young girl collapse last summer. She was wearing traditional Korean clothing in the middle of summer and the studio was a little bit warmer than usual due to the air conditioning being on the fritz plus the lighting of course, and she needed medical attention after fainting right at the start of the shoot. It was quite scary actually she was out for a good 5-10 minutes before the paramedics could arrive....

Hey there regulator. I have not seen you around in awhile. I really would like to post the bad photos but I deleted most of them. Plus it seems bad policy to show the photo. I do know my luck and someone of someone she knows will read this post and see her photo and I will have to explain myself... Or break into my insurance policy-(

Hi all,
Some (many) years ago, I was shooting a picture of a girl in a wet tee-shirt for a calendar for an car parts company when that was in vogue.
Since it was Winter, we had arranged to do the shoot in an indoor pool at a hotel and at 4:30 in the morning as to not attract attention. She was terrifically beautiful. But when she got wet, we discovered she had 'band aids' or tape on some parts of her anatomy that were of 'interest' to the photograph.
She was game to re-dress the problem, but it was a moment.

I can't even remember the tool company. From somewhere in the South. I think I saw the calendar once. It was lost with a barrel of things a long time ago.
She was a looker, married to a dentist. She modeled successfully for a while.

Well, the art director and I had interviewed her and explained the whole thing, so it was a surprise when she came up from the water... We didn't know quite what to do.
We sort of looked at her and I went over talked with her about our earlier conversation. Like I said, she was game, she had it in her mind that we 'didn't want' certain things showing. I'm not sure where that mix up came from. I also was clear that we could just go home, too, and do something else on a different day. Nothing is worth feeling bad about doing. (Which was quite true for many reasons, to include a roster of other pretty girls ready to do the shoot).
It's also amazing how many people there are around a hotel pool at 4:30 in the morning. Pretty girls are magnets.

I used to be known in my area for doing large group shoots - things like entire office staff group panorama shots to go on the wall in reception kind of thing... Last one I did there was one joker dressed in jeans and a tatty shirt who kept poking his tongue out at me...
Turns out he was the company owner (the man you was signing the check)...
