@ Trekkie - hope that isn't your gear...

@ Trekkied - better gear than a your tent with you inside. Great shot, but not one to be in the middle of.

Out late, no tripod yet, so this is handheld.

@Treckie - the log on the right side of that photo at first glance looked like some poor camper's leg. LOL!

I had a few close encounters with grizzly when I was working in British-Columbia railroads but I have no pictures of them. Once, I was having my lunch sitting on one rail to have a big one coming from behind me, rubbing his fur on my shoulder as he passed me to gently take with his claws a piece of pie straight out of the hand of my friend sitting on the opposite rail.
These two are big. The shot taken at 140mm... quite close. Even a car offers limited protections freom these. I heard of a guy in BC taken out of his car by a bear that opened the roof like a sardine can. I am sure going back to sleep in the tent after that was nerves-breaking.

Running-out of new material so I am pulling an old one.Posted 2 years ago # -

Photographed someone's citizenship ceremony today. Terrible ambient lighting but a fun time. So much optimism.

We should start a new thread, putting faces to our posts... We could show what we looked like say 20 years ago, then 10 and now...

Taken last fall...Posted 2 years ago # -
No worries on the bear picture, it was taken under a controlled environment. Humans were not harmed in the making of it.

Got sick of working in the hotel room, so I went to the store, came back, and started shooting things around the room.

Regulator75, thanks. Nice capture, as always. I love it how the headlamps don't burn out.
SquamishPhoto, nice eye-leading elements you have there :)Posted 2 years ago #
