The cold light rain allowed for some great effects to show yesterday.

keeping with a the bird theme :) I like your a great deal Squamish!!Thanks! It looks like spring is hitting your neck of the woods as well. I only wish that the robins would sit still a little longer sometimes.
Great catch of the musket fire, bland. I really like the perspective you chose, lined them all all up nicely in the frame.

@ Noxin, how many photos did you use to create that image?

The spring floods begin, this island will be swallowed by the Mississippi tonight.

Thanks, It's about 24 after the crop I guess. I spent half the weekend trying to get the pieces together. I probably should have spent a little more time on the post processing but it's close enough for now.

@soldado - mmmmmm ribs...
@bland - Nice! It'd be tempting to do an 'old photo' treatment to that image. Some would call it cliche but I think it would be awesome. :D
I took a walk with a good friend of mine (also an amateur photographer) and we picked a theme of 'shadows' for our outing. My next few posts will be from it.

@Bland - I actually like the "old photo" look more. More realistic for the era portrayed.
I can't justify getting a dedicated macro lens so here's my attempt with a Raynox 150 on a Nikkor 85mm f/1.8D.

@bland - Nice!!! Now print it out, crumple it up, flatten it, set a corner on fire (douse it ;) and throw it in an old, crazy-heavy wood frame. You, sir, will have a masterful period piece.

Bland, retoning that picture does do it wonders. I liked the original, but the second version does look better.
Regulator, how cold/humid is it where you are (Canada?)? That's some mighty crystal growth.

Thanks everyone for the compliments!

That's some mighty crystal growth.We were locked in between a humid system from the Pacific Ocean and high pressure building system over central Canada locking these conditions in Alberta. All the frost is gone now, the temps are returning to normal.
The frost itself is called Hoar Frost.
