Almost every post on this site has to do with d700 replacement, i am reading comments from different post and topic, yet people just have to mentioned about the d700 replacement, some have been waiting for months even years. What's up with this new camera? if it's so good now, why not keep it and make most of it? who knows, the new one could be a disappointment, and not worth the waiting after all. my suggestion is to be happy with what you have, new products comes out every year and that doesn't mean your old product is not usable anymore, it doesn't mean you cant take good pictures anymore, it doesn't mean spending more money on something that is not worth the spending. people in life just want more and more and not realized what they have is a treasure. your d700 is your treasure, keep it. period
