Parts of the U.S. and Canada are supposed to be pounded by a snow and ice storm over the next 24h or so... Anyone have good pics?
I have to wait until morning to take mine, as the weather is just getting started in Toronto.

We got a "whopping" 2-3 inches Sunday. It's sunny and clear here in Southern California!
still rolling hard here in Chicago.
I would love to post pics but not much activity in south Indiana. It's freezing rain and I'm gonna take more pics tomorrow but the power is out:/ thank god I charged my iPhone and cooked dinner RIGHT before power went off hahaha

I'm in Pennsylvania and the snow is about knee high but, on this trail it was packed down enough that you could walk on top of it.
I've been too sick to go outside but it's still snowing here in Chicago until at least 3 so I might bundle up really tight and venture outside.
Right now we're sitting near 19.3inchs of snow fallen in the Chicagoland area and counting.
ill try and get something before it gets too dark. We got pounded by ice bad here in indy. We did luck out some. we didnt get as much snow as chicago did...yet
Snow? What the *%(^ is all that white stuff in those photos? THAT's snow?? Well, slap my momma. Haven't seen that around here since 1988.
warprint +1 :)
Coldest day here in North Texas since 1990 (16 degrees Fahrenheit, with a wind chill of -6).
Send it back to Canada I say! They are used to it!!!
Superbowl programs on TV will no doubt have a side story about how we in this part of the country cannot handle 1" of ice on the roads... We are supposed to have a few inches of snow on Friday. Now THAT will cause utter chaos...
it's snowing hard in japan this year. 4 times the norm. more than 2m in some places (that's 6ft for you grandpas). whole cars are covered. houses have metres on the roof and in areas where they don't usually get much. many rooves and windows have collapsed.
We are supposed to have some freezing rain tomorrow. Schools are closed and some businesses are closing. LOL
It was 40f and sunny with clear skies today. For morning clouds thurs burning off late in the day. Maybe a day off playing sick for some landscape photos is in order.

Thanks for posting those! All these photographers here and no storm pics? Post more pics! Even if you're not in the middle of the storm, it's still interesting to see what your local weather is like.

I've been keeping up with Dan Dry's photos from Chicago and this evening on the news they showed Lakeshore Drive. Hope you get some relief soon!
Here's some from Tulsa, Okla. We got 14 to 21 inches depending on what part of town one lives in. Winds got as high as 60 mph. Obviously, the northern states in the US sees this often but it broke all of our old records in Tulsa. Fortunately, we had no ice.

Even though I'm sick I couldn't sit and watch a perfect shooting opportunity go by.
Heck if I wasn't sick I would have stood outside last night as the 60MPH winds hammered us with snow.
Around 11ish the snow let up here so I ventured out, this is nothing as epic as those captured by the Chicago Tribune on Lake Shore Drive though.

Been a rough winter I think some serious snow depth on the board so far.
Neat shot! Is that near where you live?
its nice see some cool snow. were were in 50 degrees Celsius!! here in Sydney a few days ago. its cooled down a bit now only about 40 now.
We got some snow but far less than was forecast. I'd like to say I'm disappointed, but really, I'd rather be in Sydney.
Want snow? Go to Sapporo.

Actually no its 6,000 feet up on the island of Jeju called Halla mountain. Its the highest peak in South Korea, and I went there with my brother with full gear and crampons for our boots. Unfortunately I didn't get a lot of shots because it was -22 degrees up there with winds forceful enough to blow you right off the side! I managed about 24 decent shots though :)
We just had a SUV go off a bridge here where they fell 120 ft. into the frozen river below, because of road conditions. The TV station below is covering the rescue from the air live. They'll have the film footage on their site later this morning. It's incredible to see.
