@NSX: I was going for the whole cake to be tack sharp, but I had the f number too low (and I was probably too close to the cake)Ah, I see what you mean. I like that shot you made at Suzuka. You're living in Japan? That's pretty cool.
Here's a photo to round out the steak photos I took.
Again, experimenting a fair bit with DOF.
Not sure if it works.
Just seems like a messy blob, not a steak.

@Kanuck: Very nice and crisp.
@jcvert1: I like these crazy shots, it could be worth exploring more with this trick.
@madjohn: Superb high contrast.

I shot this while chasing morning sun refleting off building. The color of the reflection comes from a pink-glass building. The sun is rising ahead to the left. This is what we got in Montreal from the last week big storm.Posted 2 years ago # -

This image is made up of 3 exposures combined, using in camera multiple setting, to create an HDR like effect.

@NSX: I am studying abroad in Japan for a year. I'm halfway thru now and the weather is improving :) I have many pictures to take. I am also about 1000 pictures behind in lightroom, lol.
@palerider I love that picture! the writing on the building really stands out.

@PB PM: How did you merged the 3 shots?It was done by the camera. The D300, or any Nikon camera with the multiple exposure feature, can merge a number of images into one. This can be used to make in camera HDR, use the Orton effect, and many other shots that might otherwise require a layer based editor in post.
