Hope we can see this color on new Nikon D800.
Black, Gold, Red + Turquoise. :)

Lol ... that looks like a Casio to me :D
:)
It does make it look a bit more high-tech. That green is just a little bit "old" looking. =)
You need backlight only when it is dark. In this case, dimmer green might be better not to ever-expose your retina. You surely do not want to see the ghosts of the screen everywhere.
Yes, aren't all top LCDs for Nikon green?
I've seen some shine blue for some odd reason.
Maybe it's a D3s thing.
If you're worried about dark adapting, I'd go with red. Never seen a backlight with that color though.
i personally like the "old" look. Reminds us computer nerds of the old days.
I know this is an old post, but as it's been resurected and I didn't comment first time round, my thoughts are if they can have menu selectable lighting on car radios ( I can change mine from Blue, Green or Orange), why not have the same option on cameras? I would think being able to change the colour based on the ambient light might be beneficial?
would it not be nice if Nikon started using an OLED display for this, at which you can determine the screen colours yourself ?? ( and the items it displays) so that you can read that top display in (almost) all circumstances... ?
If they did, and I would buy a D400 or D800 ( or both.. :-) ) , i would then make it black characters on a white background..
So just curious, all Nikon top LCD displays are currently all green right?
I don't see how blue can be better than green.
I once had a Lexar 600 mp3 player, it allowed me to chose from 8 different display colors (Amber, Yellow, Orange, Magenta, Blue, Green, red, white) for the LCD. I used all the colors for a while, but in the end stayed with Green till its end of life. My second choice would be Amber, goes with the Black & Gold theme.
