As per the main blog post, it seems that there are refurbished D7000 bodies for sale, even if they are all sold out right now.

Just idle speculation, but I wonder what proportion of these bodies were returns due to hot pixels in movie mode and just needed a firmware upgrade? Or could there be more of a reason for them being available... or am I just being too pessimistic?

It doesn't matter, if they're refurb'ed by Nikon, usually come with a 90-day warranty. . .pick it up at a significant discount, try it out in movie mode, and if there are hot pixels, send it in within the first week for a fixer-upper. . .no brainer, IMO, if you're eager to do 1080p movies right now. . .thanks for heads up!

I would guess, 90%, or more? If I could've waited, I would've bought a refurbished D7000 body-only kit, and would've saved a bundle, especially since I didn't need the kit lens. The v1.1 D7000 firmware upgrade resolves the hot/stuck pixel issue.
