Spooky story of a man taking a photo of his family on New Year's just as some guys come up behind them and kill him!

Hope these punks meet the same fate,
Clearly the flash went off, adrenaline must have made them not think to take the camera.

Sorry, but this thread is simply too ghoulish and of no use IMHO.

Of no use? This photo helped capture two of the A-holes responsible. Because of the photo police were able to identify the killers and have arrested two. They are still looking for a third. This was not a random robbery. The murder victim was targeted because he had helped send the gunmen to prison previously. Now the victim's last photo is going to help send the killers back to prison! Hopefully for good!

This is a photography forum and we are talking about a photo are we not? How does that not relate? This is such a powerful image on so many levels. Spaynpray would you be more interested in this thread if we had started discussing what camera and lens combo would have made this shot better? Jeez!

    +1 niko.

Its eire and scary but if it wasn't for this powerful/revealing photograph, the gunman would probably be at large still.

I did say IMHO, but as you are being sarcastic Niko, was it a Nikon he used? You didn't say - and this is Nikon Rumours Forum.... ;^\
