I give up...why does everyone carry garbage bags?
What's in your Camer Bag?

I can't speak for others, but I use them to sit on in wet areas. I carry white and black so that I can have a bride and groom sit on them to avoid getting their clothes dirty in some poses.
I'm sure people have other uses for them, too. You can cut a hole cut out of them for a lens and put on your camera to protect from heavier rain than you expected, for example.

>> Good first post! The more detail in these "list" threads, the better, IMO! Would like to get an Archos-type device someday. Will check into the Leitz as well! Welcome to NR!
Thanks, great to be here. RE: The Leitz tripod... haunt eBay to get familiar with the various model heads that have come out over the years (I think the leg/head combo has been around since the early '60's but there are several permutations). I like the taller head as it is more accommodating when you flip the camera vertical. Also, they're a pretty safe bet to buy used as they are built like tanks (and the price of a new one will induce cardiac arrest).
>> Which bag, lol?
Hee hee... yeah, I'd like to hear more about what bag you folks are hauling all these goodies around in. I'm using a Safro/Safrotto, not sure of the model, but here's a pic...

I've had a long string of bags going back to the 60's, from surplus gas mask bags to Nikon FB "bayonet" bags, and this one's the nicest of the lot. It's similar to a Domke F-804, canvas with a single-clasp closure, and hands-down the most comfortable shoulder strap pad ever. The basic design comes in two sizes ... the main difference between the two besides the size is the smaller one has a top handle that's stitched onto the flap while the larger one has a nicer bail handle that attaches to the shoulder strap rings.
...but I guess camera bags would be a whole 'nother thread, eh?
