Happy Christmas everyone! How about a thread where ON CHRISTMAS DAY you post any camera related goodies you received under the tree? I think it would be kind of fun to see members from different time zones posting at different times. (+12GMT - -12GMT). Or maybe we should be focusing (no pun intended) on our families on the big day, and not on the forum? On second thoughts, you guys are like family.....(tear in eye....sniff). :-)

Now you're really getting to me! My new camera (bought on the 12th) is STILL in the chaos that is the UK courier system - looks like it will not arrive until mid Jan '11.

    8-(

    Happy Christmas to you anyway..

What's on the way, spraynpray? Are you upgrading from a D5000?

If it's going through the UK postal system, it's replacement will be announced before you see it! If it's any consolation, mid Jan is when they've told me I MIGHT see my 85 1.4G. 8 weeks and still waiting :-(

Doh! This just gets worse and worse! Mid January! They are now trying to blame the weather, but in reality (I have been told by DHL and Citylink) it seems that Christmas has surprised them this year.

Yeah Jonny, I should have got the D90 when I got the D5000. I do think the D5000 is a great camera, but the differences (mainly handling not image quality) are too important for me not to get one. I got a used one off fleabay nicely cheap. I am selling the D5000, but if my mate doesn't buy it, I will happily keep it.

    I can't wait - er, well, maybe I will have to... 8-(

8 weeks? Try about 14 weeks for me :P. No expected date for my order because B&H doesnt care about customer service. They've had my 1700$ this whole time. I should be collecting interest discount :)

By the way. Merry Christmas to all :). Hope that everyone enjoys time with their families. :D

Just a reminder: More people die on Christmas day in America than any other day of the year. So lay off the Egg Nog, let the kids have the candy and have a Merry Christmas!

It's the big day! I was woken up at 5:30 by my 11 year old daughter singing the chorus of Handel's Messiah, only with slightly unique lyrics! Just had a full English breakfast (aka coronary on a plate). My wife has bought me a Hoya 77mm HD UV filter, and Lowepro 1W lens case for the 85 1.4 I haven't got yet :-( I hope you all have a wonderful day!

Have a great Christmas day, spare a thought for the troops too and their families.

I may have some sensor cleaning gear or a micro-hi-fi, the box is about 2 feet square but we don't open until late afternoon...my guess it's not the sensor stuff.

Anyway all of you have a nice time.

    Rich.
