    What is the most comparable in price and performance to the Canon T2i? Looking to buy a new dslr with video capability. Budget is $800

    The D3100 is still closer in terms of features... The D5000 is getting old.

    Definitely the D3100. Having used both cameras, I'd say the D3100 provides a nicer experience for first time users, but the T2i has more features that an advanced amateur would like. Personally I picked my first DSLR based on the lenses I wanted, not the other way around.
