After looking at a few straps myself, I ended up with buying the Industry Disgrace (black) by Crumpler. So far I'm very please with it functionality.
What strap do you use?

I know a few people with wrist straps, but the only people really happy with them made their own.

I've been happy using my op/tech since way back when I got my F100. Does a good job with a good size DSLR and my 80-200.

I use the Optech sling, which is similar to the popular Black Rapid strap, but a fraction of the price. It's very comfortable, has quick releases, and keeps the tripod mount free, which is nice. I sometimes get paranoid that the quick releases will, by some act of God, get undone, so I taped mine with some gaffers tape. It totally defeats the purpose of the quick releases, but it makes me feel a little bit better.

I use the OpTech Super Classic Strap with Uni-Loop

I added a set of Extensions to the connectors so I can wear it like a sling across my chest. The extensions let me make it way longer than needed, but lets me hold the camera out, while still being secure to my in the event I am holding the camera up over a crowd.
*Link Removed*As jjolddahgoo mentioned about securing the OpTech, I use the new Secure-Its. I keep them on all 4 of the connectors to keep it secure, and it works.

My combo works so well, two co-workers went the same direction, as well as two of my friends (Christmas gifts).I use a D700 and sometimes shoot with and without the MB-D10 on it (with a RRS plate attached at all times), so the BR would be a pain, plus there are times when I want to wear it around my neck. This combo lets me keep it versatile.
Alternatively, if you want an extra set of Uni-Loops, order the Uni Adapter Loop instead of the Extensions, and now you have the Extensions and an extra set of Uni-Loops.

I use an el cheapo grip strap I got from eBay with a Manfrotto Plus Camdapter plate. I always found beck straps to be very uncomfortable, but I can happily hike for hours a camera hanging off my wrist.
I looked at higher end grip straps like Nikon AH-4, but in the end, a cheap version works just as well for me.

adamz,
Herringbone hand straps sell well here in South Korea and are made with high quality leathers it seems. Matin is supposed to be decent as well. Hand straps are very comfortable, but the problem I have with them is the conflict usually with ballhead plates as the hand strap usually fastens onto the bottom of the camera where the plate goes. So you'd need to have either one or the other one at one time creating a lot of needless switching.

I use old brown or black leather leica straps on my Rolleiflex, and F3 and F4, they're thin, not bulky at all, and slip over my shoulder with little fuss (I never wear my camera around my neck, always over a shoulder, sometimes slung across my chest. I hate the big foamy things that everyone seems to use these days on 35mm/APS-C format cameras. I only use a big Mamiya strap for my Pentax 6x7, and I don't use a strap at all on my Hasselblads.
I have a hippie woven strap for my Nikkormat, it came with another camera I got at some point.
my favorites are the leica straps by far though.

Anyone use Sun Sniper? Took a lot of pictures over the holidays in Germany and Poland and got really annoyed with the standard supplied round the neck one i have and also looking to upgrade?

There is no camera strap better then the UPstrap. My Nikon D700 stays on my shoulder and never, ever slips, even with my 14-24mm lens attached.

The last post here was about a year ago.
Just curious, any new ideas? change of heart?Im currently using the Glide Strap (sling) from Custom SLR. It works as advertised, but it sometimes twists itself inside-out.

I've used a Black Rapid and a few other, but I recent upgraded to the CArrySpeed for the more secure connection and the offset plate.
*LINK REMOVED*The CarrySpeed has been the best strap I have used yet.

Forgot to mention that the CarrySpeed Pro comes with a wrist strap and a special second connector for when you carry a long telephoto lens.

still using a Black rapid in combination with a Spider Pro

I use the Sun Sniper with the steel cable.
I was never particularly fond of the factory strap on the D80, as I usually carry the camera under my right arm when not shooting. The sniper strap is very comfortable for that, especially when a big, long lens is mounted.

Optech on each of my cameras (D300 and D60): Very very comfortable ! :)

Quick Strap.
Just like Black Rapid, only not a rip off.

The one that came with my camera.
Hey look, I haven't changed at all!

I don't carry my camera around my neck all day, so am happy with standard wide straps. I had Optech straps, but thought they were too "bouncy".
I have a penchant for official Nikon straps that don't come with a camera. My D800E will hang from a Nikon AN-6W Wine Strap
My D200 sports this psychedelic outrage:

I use the one that come with camera, I had an F100 fall of strap a few years ago (buckle came undone), so I always check the buckles daily. Also usually wrap a couple times around my wrist when carry and shooting, I am gun shy now about dropping.

that big plate looks a bit stupid. they claim it allows use of a camera quick release plate, but you can only attach the plate off axis if it's a long plate.
