If possible - it would be great to have a summary of all the major timelined rumours that came true or were proved to be fake in 2010.
e.g.
- that Nikon Timeline doc that cropped up (was that this year ? - My brain is poor with time stuff)
-Nikon Reps saying there would be no D700 replacement in 2010 (so that was true then - damn)
etc etc.

If you mean the supposed Nikon road map that got "leaked" it was total BS. That was proven a "hoax" long ago.

Yeah that, but not just that. Other launch date rumours too.
Might help NR too to see if there are any valid source patterns.Although Nikon reps have had a bad name on here for giving BS rumours - the big "no D700" replacement was true.

Everybody got the D700 replacement wrong. Some guy on Dpreview forums with a supposedly great track record and solid source was adamant there would be a D800 in February of 2010. I forgot his name but he lost credibility since he had been dropping hints for many months. Even Thom Hogan said his sources told him Nikon would reveal a D700 replacement in the first half of 2010. Ken Rockwell is nothing but crap predictions. He has reviews up for cameras that don't exist!
I think Nikon Rumors has been spot on with most of their rumors. Sometimes they post obvious hoax like that D4 photo that was just some student's CGI rendering. I remember reading in this forum some guy claiming it was a real photo because he had several years experience with CGI renderings and he was 100 percent sure it was real.
That whole Q-mount stuff was also obviously fake to me. But Nikon Rumors kept making post about it. They should have stopped after that mirrorless car with a Nikon logo on it got posted. It would be interesting to see how many of those Nikon patents become reality. There seems to be so many specs depicting a new lens mount and compact camera. Nikon might just be posting junk to throw everyone off.
Maybe Julian Assange can get Nikon's real roadmap for the next four years, lol.

Daf, actually there was a pretty good recap on nikonrumors this past week on the lenses and 2 bodies that were released this year if that helps at all.
