Location :Periyar Lake -Kerala
Well ,its one of the beautiful lakes I have ever seen. These dead trees are standing like this for the past 100 years .Ever since this man-made lake was formed .
below is the info given on Wiki ::)
Periyar is a protected area, and a nature reserve in the South Indian State of Kerala, set high in the mountains of the Western Ghats at the border to Tamil Nadu. It lies in the districts of Idukki and Pathanamthitta. The protected area covers an area of 925 km², out of which a 350 km² part of the core zone was made into the Periyar National Park and Tiger Reserve, sometimes dubbed the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary. The park is often called by the name thekkady also. Thekkady is located four km from Kumily, approximately 100 km east of Alappuzha, 110 km west of Madurai and 120 km southeast from Kochi.

As You've probably noticed I wasn't very active lately... actually that's my first post this month... even mods need some holidays sometimes :)
Anyway I'm back:)

Nex-5 + 16mm - Isla Mujeres Tortugranja aka Turtle Sanctuary
I don’t find snow a very inspiring subject and I am not proud enough of my inside-shooting skills to post any of them yet, so might as well continue posting older pictures I like.

This is in Newfoundland, Canada, a very beautiful country to visit during summer.
Welcome back, adam.
@abhinav - i'd like to see that place one day, it seems to have a very haunting feel
@skid - she looks like a fun shoot
@tycho - old/abandoned roads have such amazing character

From a series of long shots taken my first time out with my Santa special 70-200mm f/2.8 VR2. I had a blast seeing what I could get away with wide open at max zoom. It's a totally different world than my 18-200mm at 5.6. I am going to have a lot of fun with this lens! :D
@thanks admaz :D will post the coloured one too :)& welcome back
@elvis : wow man ..that a nice picture :) ..and thanks too:)
@trekie : different look
@Chris : felt slightly overexposed ,but still looking great :)

Viking settlement, Newfoundland, Canada. These small hills were their houses. Nearby, they had a foundry where they were making iron nails and tools.

Yap, Columbus is not the european that discovered the americas, the Norse discovered it almost 600 years before Columbus. Apparently, the Vikings whent as far south as Virginia to get wood for their ships. They got their as.. kicked by the native (inuit) after killing and raping locals for a while.
