One photo per day (24hrs)... Maybe I should extend it to one photo a week since it's always the same people who insist on breaking the rule.

I mean only for those who keep breaking the 24hr rule.

Someone might post a picture @ 11:00pm and then the next day at 3:00pm, can't see anything wrong with that. Just my opinion!

John Travolta and Qantas' Alan Joyce, with a Qantas Boeing 707-138B N707JT (former VH-EBM). I've got many others of John Travolta. You can also see the grounded A380 in hanger 96 in the background (the huge tail fin with "QC" on it, short for VH-OQC).

We've been over this many many times. People think they are justified in posting a picture at 10pm and then again at 8am the "next" day. Then they post a third picture at 8pm. Thats three photos in 24hrs which goes against the rules. If you want to post multiple pictures then you can post to the flickr group. PM me if you want to discuss it further. Otherwise i think i will make repeat offenders be able to only post once a week. The PAD is suppose to be for everyone to showcase their photos regardless of skill level. It is not meant to be an online portfolio for a hand full of members.
Post only ONE photo per 24hrs! Its not that complicated of a rule. I have no idea why some of you insist on debating what 24hrs means. Anyway lets get back to the pictures.

Great picture, and everyone else. John Travolta trains on our flight simulators (Flight Safety) and is quite the accomplished pilot.

Thanks Bland!
John Travolta is a superb PR asset for Qantas. He has a really nice attitude in the press-conferences - and really infectious enthusiasm.
He's very good at weaving around tricky questions in a way that is much more subtle than the traditional "no comment/I can't comment on that" line. One journalist standing beside me asked him what his views were on the consecutive QF32 (A380-842-RR) and QF6 (B747-438-RR) engine failures, and did he think Qantas' reputation for safety was damaged? He carefully avoided the question and responded about Qantas' pilot training and how it was very tough, but made him a better pilot. He didn't answer the question - but the response was positive and the reporter left it at that.
I'd love to get him aside one day and interview him about his love of flying and the association with Qantas - not so much a formal interview, but a conversation between a couple of people who love most of the same types of planes, it'd make for good reading/viewing.
The image above didn't quite work out how I wanted it, the ground-crews standing where they were (and the one walking past the stairs) sort of stuffed up the motive I was after, but that's just the way it is, and they have equally as much right to be there, it's their special day after all! The safety barriers were moved multiple times as well, so everyone pretty much shuffled about multiple times - as you can imagine, there was a lot of push and shove! I had the D700 hanging off one shoulder, and the D3S off the other. I was one of only a couple of people with D3S or D3. The rest was a sea of white lenses and the signature curvaceous EOS-1D camera bodies.
