I have a nikon d90 and I am stuck. I don't know if I should get the Tamron 17-50 2.8 or the Nikon 18-105. Any advice on these two lenses would be greatly appreciated.

Tokina 16-50mm f/2.8 AT-X Pro
Had it on my D90 and now on my D7000. Cheap, awesome, great!
Beware though, like me, you'll only want f/2.8s or faster.

Both lenses have their good and bad sides. The Tamron is a little higher build quality, and it's 2.8. The 18-105 is a great walkaround lens (more range on the tele side). Do a forum search, it has been discussed already.
Bottom line is the Tamron is a great lens and Nikon is good value for money. I'm getting the Tammy for my d7k :-)

+1 for the Tamron. Look around on the internet, there's alot about it.
