As you may know, Canon has just released manual control for video on the 5D. They called it, "By popular demand"
Many many D90 users want manual control for their video, including me.

    1. Sign a petition here:
    thepetitionsite.com/1/control-the-d90

    I already did. They need 20,000 signatures I guess. That's a lot. There's only 150 so far...

    2. Email Nikon directly. Go to their support page and "Ask A Question"
    support.nikontech.com/app/

I already emailed them 3 times about this, and answers are mixed every time. But in each, they say they will forward the request to the factory... who knows maybe that helps!

We just have to do it by sheer numbers! Canon did it, Panasonic did it... Nikon can do it too!

I'm am pretty sure that they are working on it already. I doubt that they will leave Canon with such an advantage.

Spamming their support won't do much good, just increase the workload of the people who have to process those requests and answer to every single one of them. I can assure you that they will not tell you that they are currently working on it unless Nikon makes an official announcement first. This partially leads to the discussion in the "NIKON DOES READ THIS FORUM" thread.

However there is nothing wrong with signing the petition instead of leaving a support ticket.

I just signed it, but the number is currently about 170 so far, so, if we are going to make it happen, call your friends to sign it too.

It would be great if they solved the 50hz lighting bug...

Is it just me or is that site kind of shady. I don't want them to have my contact details.

456 out of 20000 needed, not good enough even for an average spammer in an hour, as for D90 firmware I hope Nikon is not watching that site or they will never publish it.

I'd be really happy if they made a more substantial update to the D40. I would like a time lapse timer thingy.
