Ok, still noting about SB700, but I have one question.
What accessories can we expect that sb700 will be includet in the box?- Speedlight Stand , that is for shure.
- what about Diffusion Dome ? We know that sb600 doesent include it ...
- and what about Color Filter Set ? sb600 doesent ...
- what about in-build pull out white card bouncer ? SB600 doesent ... It includes only pull out wide angle
diffuser witch sb700 will have for shureSo can we expect that sb700 will include similar accessories as sb900 does or not ?
Diffusion Dome, Color Filter Set, in-build white card bouncer ...thx.

If I had to guess, I think nikon will include some gells like they do on the higher end models. The SB900 has that auto-white balance adjustment when you put their proprietary gels in there (read expensive). They'd be crazy to not include that on the SB-700. Its just free money sitting on the table once you get people addicted.
Diffusion dome depends on the flash head size. If it's different than the last one, they will probably need to manufacture their own as most of the third party solutions won't fit.
The White bounce card probably won't be on there. Nikon likes to use little $2 features like this to prod you into a $200 upgrade. I rarely use this ob my SB-800 anyway so no biggie.
The challenge here for Nikon is to make a quality flash under $300 that is sufficiently differintiated from the SB-900, but still substantially different than the SB-600.

I hope they give add-ins similar to what came with the SB800. I actually do use the white bounce card a fair bit, and would like that to be part of the package. Gels would be nice, but not necessary. Ideally, the SB700 would be the same size as the SB800 for interchangability of accessories purposes.

SB-600 actually has better Speedlight Stand than SB-900 (one with metal mount).
Diffusion dome and white card? You could get better with some third party add–ones for less money (some have color filters included).
Gel color filters? Nikon sells them today for about 25$, and you will need to replace them after couple of shoots anyway.
Master mode flash? It is built in every new prosumer Nikon DSLR.
What else do you really need from a new flash that could justify 100$ price difference you are talking about?Posted 4 years ago # -
I found a link for a part which stated that it fits for SB-600 and SB-700 so the SB-700 should be out soon. I posted the link via "submit rumour". Unfortunately I seem to have lost the link. :-(
Maybe it will show up in the rumours...Posted 4 years ago # -
I thought for sure it would have been announced with the D5000. Let's hope it shows up with the D300 replacement.

I found the link. It is Dutch but maybe Google will translate it for you. ;-)

It says:
"FALCON EYES ADAPTER FOR NIKON SB600/SB700 CA-1"
"CA adapter for FGA accessories. Fits onto SB600/SB700."(I'm dutch :)

still waiting...

yeah, Im waiting :(

I suppose it makes sense that it wasn't released in conjunction with the D5000 as the 5000 lacks on camera flash commander mode.

dont care about reasons I want new flash

Well now a new nikon D300S is confirmed for July 30th. And everybody talked about release of a new flash SB700 with new D300 body upgrade, so can we expect that SB700 will finally be released or not ?

It would be great to have the SB700 actually available by October - for various fall shoots.

Sponsored results for "Nikon SB-700" searches from B&H show up on Google. Results for "SB-700" show up on all major search engines(although this may be for photo album refills). Try Searching for "SB-700" or "Nikon SB-400" from Google, Bing and Yahoo.
I am planning to purchase a SB-600 to replace/supplement my SB-400 sometime in the next few months and it would be great for a upgraded model to come out before then.

You can type in all sorts of words and get sponsored hits. Just a way to drum up traffic. Search for "Nikon D800" or "Nikon D900" and the same thing happens. Doesn't mean anything I'm affraid. :(

And I'm also waiting for the SB-700 to buy a flash. I'm glad it's not urgent seeing how people have been waiting for the past year or so.

1337 - I've been waiting so long, I think I'll just pretend to start waiting all over again.
Posted 3 years ago # -
And when it finally does come out you guys will complain it doesn't match your expectations :^)
Actually with the way Nikon has been kind of unpredictable with their recent naming conventions I'd guess the SB600 replacement won't be called 700.

I know I'd be happier with the features of that new flash if they called it the SB-7000. That's like ten times better.

ND - actually, I'd be happy if its an SB600 with the SB900 style interface. I'm easy to please. I'd prefer SB800 capabilities with the SB900 UI, without the size and extra weight.
Jonny - I hear ya, but personally I don't like it when they use really big numbers - starts to sound like something being sold on an infomercial.

Yes, large numbers get ridiculous quickly:

"I'd buy that for a dollar!"

/me believes it is more likely Nikon will surprise us with a full-featured SB-700 than that alphanikonrex is going to get the (important) cultural reference.
