Hi all,
Having some problems with my D7000:
1) It seems that every time I shoot on manual, and adjust the shutter speed and aperture to meter correctly according to the in camera display - my photos are over exposed and the colors are washed out. When I under expose by a few steps, things look alright, but the colors still look dull.
2) When shooting in Auto, the colors are sometimes better, sometimes just as bad. I've noticed that in Auto - the camera is automatically selecting different modes for me. For example, I took a shot or some mountains - and it registered as "Portrait" mode, even though i didn't put the camera in "scene" and select that. Needless to say the colors came out poorly.
3) Video looks terrible in Auto mode. It's over exposed in bright light and looks worse than video my iPhone takes.
I'm not claiming to be an expert - still learning - question is - does this sound like a metering problem, or are there specific Auto/Metering settings I need to adjust here. i would think that out of the box, the most basic settings would be in effect, and Auto would produce a great picture - but this hasn't been the case so far.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks.
