Ha! The Olympus owners category made me laugh to most (one of my best friends is an Olympus fan). Everything but the, "you will switch to Canon," descriptor for Nikon owners rang true. I find that Nikon owners are among the most brand-loyal, die-hard users of all (I'm one of 'em, starting with my original FM).
I've seen a lot of Canon-to-Nikon switchover photographers in the last year and a half (while the reverse was true about 15 years ago). I used to see about 90% Canon, to only about 10%, or less, Nikon. Now, I'm seeing it growing to nearly 60/40, Canon-to-Nikon. Getty (which bought out WireImage a couple years ago) recently switched from Canon to Nikon. Getty photographers are supplied with two D3s bodies each. Also, Nikon has been offering some very enticing deals to pros lately.

i love the "Yashica 50mm f/1.7 lens, generic battery grip, Nikon SB20, Canon EOS 40D."

I didn't find it funny, but I get the spirit of the post. I think the point he made about Nikon and Canon users having an inevitable switch from one brand to the other is due to the "grass is always greener on the other side" mentality that many people have. IMO switching brands is just too expensive, unless you have to do it for an employer, at their expense.

I am still laughing! That is just great!

I like this one, but I think we can do a better description of the Nikon user. I bet we could actually get it down to the individual user / camera combination on this forum...

Funny stuff and seems to be right on. lol

Funny as I came from canon. Although very funny, most Nikon users usually will stay in camp because of the unbeatable ergonomics and system adaptability.
Ever give a pro Canut a rebel xti. It will take 15 mins just to find the apeture and ISO controls...
Still great and I love the Leica user descrip

I like that even after the post the other commenters(on the link) are already fighting about their cameras

I never liked Canon's ergonomics. I've handled a XSi for a while- my cousin has that camera.
I've also handled a Canon 7D extensively because my mother's friend bought the camera and went on vacation without reading the manual, so I was asked to give her a crash course in the 7D.
Boy that is a hard camera to use. I had no manual to work off of, so I had to do a crapload of guesswork. Not a fun thing to do.
It feels really nice in the hands, but the buttons are all in the wrong places.

Since I owned an Olympus OM-1 and OM-10 many years ago (along with a Vivitar 24-48mm zoom that I loved), I thought it was very funny. Hell, the part about not having any friends may even be true, although my dogs like me ...

I've done "the switch" twice during my 40 years of photography. From Canon to Minolta when 35mm film SLR ruled; Minolta simply leapfrogged Canon in terms of features (especially AF), ergonomics and quality. Then from Sony (Minolta) to Nikon in the DSLR age; my Sony DSLR was hugely disappointing.
I'm pretty sure I've now found grass sufficiently green to keep me happy for many years to come!

Yes some loving jumping the Nikon ship when Canon releases some new camera then come crawling back once they realize the crappy AF and inferior lenses :) I know quite a few douches on my Leica forum site thats for sure. This forum is much better! ^^
