He is driving a corvette...he can't be doing too bad for himself. He can probably afford another one.

I wish I could afford to laugh off the loss of a $6000 lens and $5000 camera...

It's called insurance people. He's all smiles because now he can get the newer version of that lens and the D800.

Exactly can you say insurance? I think somebody will be buying the newer version of the lens like Niko says. The guy was almost more interested in the "wow" factor of the distruction than the actual loss. I cringed at the weight around their necks carrying 2 cameras with those long telephoto lenses! Talk about ouch..

Cool video thanks for sharing that :)

I doubt I could afford to insure gear that expensive, let alone buy it.

    Is that a 600mm F/4, or is that either a 300 F/2.8 or 400 F/2.8?

    Sucks to be him.

It's the 400 f2.8. If I remember correctly he also once attached a D700 to the outside of an airplane. I think he took those pictures down because the FAA didn't like the ghetto rig he and the pilot created for the flight. Apparently the FAA takes notice when an unapproved external attachment is used on an aircraft. Especially when it might come off in flight and fall on someone's head.
