My Best Buy store today sold their 3 Nikon D7000's before I could find a salesperson to help me. Unbelievable! People rushed the camera department. Just ordered my Nikon D7000 Kit on Amazon... Amazon's prices are as high as $1,999.00 for the kit. Got mine for $1,699.00. It's $200 more than I would have liked to pay, but couldn't wait any longer and torture myself any longer. Excited I will have it by Wednesday or Thursday.

many many people have preordered from amazon, so they are certainly ahead on the list.
Given what you're saying about the various prices, i think you bought from a 3rd party through the amazon marketplace.

Correct- the camera is being sold through Amazon, not by Amazon. The seller is almost certainly someone who used coupons at Best Buy and is reselling on Amazon. Nothing wrong with that, just consider the premium a "finder's fee".
