Just keep watching the prices for the moment -- a lot of the ones I've been seeing for sale are still ones people bought within the last 6-8 months (either stated, or my guess based on uber-low shutter counts) for $750-900. So they're not really dropping the price much below the $699-749 you can get one for new. In that case, I'd rather pay $50-100 extra and get the 2-year warranty.
But seriously, I expect you can ask anyone with a D90 who actually uses it and they will say that $700 is a killer price for the camera.

I have been using a D90 for a utility camera for a little less than a year and to help owners who bought them as I recommended the D90 to them. I would sure not sell mine for $600 or even $700. I will keep it as a backup camera and to be able to swap back and forth in underwater housings for a D90 which exactly fits the D7000, mine has a port for the 12-24mm Nikkor which is a superb lens. As far as DX goes there are NO lens I know that are better than the 12-24 Nikkor. Since I shoot very little video on the 12-24mm I do not anticipate seeing much improvement from a D7000 there and that is pretty much what will drive some owners to unload a very excellent camera. I have checked used really good condition D90s at B&H and they don't look very low priced.
