I have had a D7000 body on pre-order at amazon.com since September 15, 2010. No communication from amazon at all. I read on Nikon Rumors on Friday Oct 15, 2010 that some Best Buy stores have received the D700 kit. So I called the Best Buy store in Richfield, MN, USA on Oct 15 at 9am. They said a truck had arrived overnight and was not unpacked yet. There were TWO D7000 Kits on that truck. Best Buy held a kit for me and I zoomed over there. I bought one of the two available D7000 Kits for $1609.11 which included MN Sales tax. I had no coupon. I am so happy with the camera so far. I have been testing "tough shots" where balance of highlights and lowlights are an issue. I upgraded from the Nikon D80 which I have owned new for four years. I then went to amazon.com and canceled my pre-order of the D7000 body. Six hours after canceling that order, amazon sent me an email about a $25 discount on the body when it comes in. Stupid amazon. BTW, I almost never shop at Best Buy and I usually wait for a given product to be available for months before buying it. This is my first time that I literally chased a new release product as it first became available. Thanks, -Jim

I think you're not alone in your chasings, Jim. Welcome to the forum, but I'll bet one of the mods will close your thread because there's one where people are posting their best buy experiences on already. Hang around the forum even if they do—it's a fun place.
