LOL
I am seeing ads for 18-105 kit lenses now on craigslist. All listed for $350. they ain't gonna get that price.
I am really disappointed. I will wait until Nov 8th since that's when my credit card payment is due. If I don't get the camera by then. I will just cancel the order altogether. My closest gig is in the middle of December so I am not that pressed to get it right away or get the body with kit lens that I wouldn't use. I just feel really disappointed since I wanted to photography the baptism of my baby cousin.
Hell maybe I might even score a deal on Black Friday o the D7000.

Yeah, No kidding they're not going to get that price, I've been watching that lens of ebay of the last couple weeks, and they have all sold for around $250, more of them sold under $250, these where new lenses. This is why I didn't want to buy the kit, In Canada the kit sells for $1599 that lens sells for $379 the body sells for $1279. Now some math. $1599 - 379 = 1220. 1279 - 1220 = 59. and 379 - 59 = 320. Buying the kit saves you $59, buying the body then the lens on ebay or elsewere for around $230 saves you $149, plus buying on ebay, you won't get taxed which is %13 here. Now if I can get the lens for anywhere below $320 I will save more then buying the kit.

I printed a copy of the 12% coupon and brought it with me. Unfortunately when the cashier put the code in the system said it was invalid. Can anyone tell me if they need to do anything special? Does it require me to be signed up as a Reward Zone® program Premier Silver member? Any help is appreciated as I was counting on saving the extra $180.Thanks
I printed the same coupon code posted here, and brought it to a Best Buy in Los Angeles county yesterday. When the salesperson tried it, it worked! This was before he even entered my non-silver Rewards Zone® member number. Maybe he keyed the code in wrong? Did he try entering it more than once?

Or perhaps BB is catching on to you guys and killed the code because of "abuse". Meaning the code wasnt suppose to be freely distributed. Interesting to hear if it works for others now.

All I know is it worked for me even though I am not a Silver Premium Member.
If you can't get the 12% coupon to work there is still a 10% coupon included with some packing guide that can be found at your local USPS.

I gave the coupon to a friend of mine today that purchased the camera yesterday at the same time I did. The girl working customer service did a "Price Match" as it was easier for her with the system. That was at 3PM PST. My friend came in to the exact same BB and turned in the coupon, and they refunded him the difference. That was at 8PM PST.
Neither one of us are Silver Members.

Picked mine up this am in Chicago area. Used the coupon and it worked. Total cost for the kit $1319.99 and even with the ridiculous sales tax saved 70 bucks over what I would have paid amazon (plus shipping). Thanks to whoever originally posted the coupon!

@thinkthis, Thank you for the tip! Got a pricematch of $1319.99 plus tax. Fantastic!

Just curious . . . how many more people were able to find D7000 kits at their local Best Buy today (Saturday, 10.16.10)?

I tried to use the 12% coupon but got denied (not a Rewards member at all). Shame that I left my 10% coupon at home, because when I went back all the D7000's were sold out...in a 50 mile radius (and I live near San Francisco and believe me, there are a LOT of Best Buys around the area).
Damn you SF photographers!

Spoke with the local camera shop, apparently they were supposed to get them in on Saturday for sale on Monday.
Turns out just like Amazon, their shipment is delayed for a month with no reason why from Nikon.
So glad I have my D7000, but hopefully this doesn't mean the grip is delayed, visited a Ritz camera and local camera shop and they still had no clue of price or release date.

Got my D7000 today, I couldn't wait any longer for the body only! I picked it up using the 10% off coupon from the USPS moving packet, and with the 7% sales tax, it came out to $1444. I listed the 18-105mm on craigslist at 4pm for $250, and by 8pm I had a buyer lined up. I'm selling the lens tommorow, making my new total for the camera $1194 with tax. I would have paid $1283 for the body only with tax, and I would have had to wait until mid-November or later. I plan on going to another BestBuy tomorrow and getting a price adjustment using the 12% off coupon. That'll get me another $33, making the total cost for the body only $1161. So basically I saved $122, and I have my brand new D7000 now instead of mid-November or even later...
SUCKERS!......I keed I keed, but seriously, what a deal!
Now to sell my D40 body for around $250, and make the total cost of switching to the D7000 even less! :O

Does anyone know anyone that has had there Amazon order ship? Are they even shipping them now or just waiting until november.

So let me get *this* straight. There won't be Nikon cameras for another month?
Edit:
Freudian slip.

So let me get shit straight. There won't be Nikon cameras for another month?we won't really know the answer to that ill monday, as that's the official release date.
but the likely possibility is that after the first batch as gone, stores will slowly get stock as it trickles out. there won't be a "wave" of stock a month from now. thats just a possible time that you'll get one if you havn't yet ordered.

Yeah, looking at what's been going on with BB and every other company out there... there are VERY few D7000s owners out there, and that'll be the case for another month or so.
Posted 2 years ago # -
I was still hoping that some smaller stores received some batches from Nikon. But all of this is just getting me peeved off.

I got mine Saturday. I called Best Buy Friday night. They only had one, and said they'd hold it for me 'till the next morning. I was pretty surprised they did that for me on something that was brand new, and going to be in short supply. I scored with the 12% code too...and brought the 10% one as a back up.

On behalf of everyone who ordered from B&H, if Monday is the official release date then I'm hoping B&H pulls a rabbit out of the hat and send us e-mails that our orders have been filled and our cameras are on the way. Being that it's a privately owned "store" I'm thinking they probably had their shipment in for some time and were waiting to "flip the switch" on showing inventory until Monday.

Rumors of Amazon's delay may be a little exaggerated. Upon inquiry today, I received the following email:
"Thanks for writing to Amazon.com.
"Nikon D7000 16.2MP DX-Format CMOS Digital SLR with 3.0 Inch LCD (Body Only)" has proven to be a very popular item.
We have many customer orders for this item, and we've just begun
receiving inventory from our suppliers. We are filling orders as
quickly as we can on a first-come, first-served basis. We expect to ship your order in the next few business days. On the date of shipment, we'll send you an e-mail message confirming the date, contents, and method of your shipment.
Thanks for shopping at Amazon.com."
I ordered on 9/14, and I suspect that a good number of those ahead of me in line may have jumped ship for Best Buy already, improving my standing even more.

Interesting my local store says that it might be probably a couple of weeks before they have it in stock. I also went to a BB in New Jersey (Woodbridge) and they will be getting their in a week since that's their official release date. Whatever that means.
Theres 2 cameras in BB in Union and one camera left in West Patterson. Both are in New Jersey.

poster you're a fellow New Jerseyan?!? Nice...I got mine from the Best Buy in Holmdel...I walked in and they had one in the glass case. I asked the kid if they had any in stock and he said he didn't think they had it. I said, "But there's one right there! :D" to which he said "Oh wow, we must have just got them in!" Sure enough he went to the back and they had three, one of which is mine alllll mineeee lol....He did take the one out of the display case and let me play with it first though...which consisted of me holding it up to my eye and saying "I'll take one!" haha...
