Don't you realize how important this delivery date is?
Nobody can make good photos until they get their new cameras.

I have to admit, I've taken some nice shots with my Droid using the Vignette app. I rather just carry my D3k and phone instead of a P&S for quick shots. That's scary or sad.
Sorry for going off topic. I say Oct 15th is the benchmark, since it will be exactly 30 days. So we'll see tomorrow Shrug

I remember earlier when a kit was available from Willoughby, it was to be released on Nov. 15th. Technically Amazon is saying that the kit will be released by Willoughby on Nov. 15th, but no mention to when Amazon.com will be releasing the camera, as the body only which has no third party seller still mentions that this item will be sold by Amazon when available. May lead to why the kit has only the 15th release date?
Thoughts? Perhaps Amazon hasn't given their own release date yet?
Hopefully this will temporarily set minds at ease haha.
Also noteworthy: Every single Nikon Camera has a savings that has to be applied after camera is in cart. Could amazon be using this delay in release to quickly move other Nikon units for over anxious buyers? Hang tight people, I feel a real release date is soon on the horizon.
Canon and other camera makers not having a huge release right now are not receiving this treatment. I'm on to you Amazon... Or need to get back to my work haha.

Now I can't even search for the "NIKON D7000 KIT", when you search for NIKON D7000 it shows only the Body and not the Kit. What the hell is going on????

Concerning the price of the D7k..
What is the general behaviour of prices right after the camera hits the store shelves? Does it go down in the first month by some %? (Let's say down to 1099 from 1199 once it's in the shop) Or just gradually decreases in price?
I'm asking cause I have a really tough time deciding between D7k and 7D as my new DSLR. I don't have any glass (and the first I will be getting is a Leica Summicron most probably anyway), so I don't have any serious drawbacks.

I'll believe it when I see it. Either way, I rather wait a little bit longer for my body only then dropping 300 more for the lens that I'd probably never use. If Bestbuy has em I'm sure Amazon does too, and if bestbuy is selling them (even illegally) I doubt Amazon would hold onto their stock till November.
Well for what it's worth I also have a body only pre-ordered on Amazon but thought I'd break off a phone call to my local Best Buy. Sure enough they have 3 D7000 kits sitting on the floor. Wonder when the first Body Only sighting will take place....
Does best buy normally stock Body-only? or the kits?
i would imagine they would just stock kits to get you to spend more, and would order a body-only for you if requested
There are some pics of people w/ their boxes on DPReview. I don't think I've ever seen a body only at a BB store.
There sems to be a lot of people canceling their pre-orders right now.
I believe BB sells Body Only just on their websites, but I could be wrong.
Amazon is probably one of the most largest retailers of Nikon products and I highly doubt these release/shipping dates are set in stone. People, just stay tuned. I really think they'll release it soon for us "Amazoners".

im sure it will. best buy is not supposed to be giving these out yet. Some of the employees just dont know that, others do and refuse to sell them.
im not interested in the kit though, i already have a 18-105. lol...

Oh and my ex works are BB and I asked him today if the store had the d7000 and he said no! He said he didn't even know if they were going to stock them. Either he's stupid or that BB is stupid...

I am one of those who got my kit at BB today. BB does not sell body only unfortunately even on their web site. I had to buy the kit even though I did not really need the kit. I figure that I can sell my still unopened kit 18-105 for $200-250 to obliviate the pain from spending $300 on this unnecessary lens. The 12% coupon also helped with sales tax.
Just got off the phone with my local camera shop.
They are expecting their shipment on Monday, unfortunately for me they are all kits which puts it out of my price range with tax thrown on top :(
I am hoping when things go official the Nikon store or some place still has 'em in stock!
Thank heaven for ill-informed employees, eh? I'm convinced I'll have mine in hand by next Friday from Amazon.

I cracked :( With this information that bodies would ship weeks after the kit... I hesitated, called my local Bestbuy and sure enough they had em and said they'd be happy to set it aside for me, I was kind of like "really? that easy?" Went down there, and there it was... I shrugged, opened up my phoned, cancelled my amazon order, that I stayed up all night for, and now I need to eat and go back to playing around with this fine machine.
Sorry it didn't work out Amazon.
I sure do feel like I'm putting my foot in my mouth saying I'd rather wait hahha.. But I meant I rather wait till next week, not till November.
