Good news, Amazon just sent me an e-mail giving me an estimated delivery date of Dec 27-28. It hasn't shipped yet, but if it's going to make it by then it has to ship soon. I placed the order on Dec 14. Still no news from Adorama (order placed on Nov 26). I guess I'll cancel the Adorama order once I receive the Amazon order or if Adorama sends me an e-mail saying they have one for me. I had resigned myself to waiting until sometime in January, but it may just squeak in before January.

I ordered yesterday the nikon D7000 (body only) at Amazon (seller: Samy´s Camera). Received a confirmation e-mail and my credit card was charged. Today, when the camera was to be delivered, received e-mail cancelling my order, because the item was out of stock.
Are this serious business?

I picked up a body only from Dodd Camera. They had it shipped to the store from another location in Ohio. They were nice to deal with, and I will do business with them again.

My order shipped today from Amazon with their free shipping. I should receive it on the 27th or 28th. I suggest that you place an order with Amazon directly.

abetanco, I've been watching and Amazon has had them in stock every other week or so for the last month, so I'd guess they'll ship it within the next two weeks or so. Did you choose 2-day shipping?
If anyone is a college student with a student email address that ends in .edu, check amazon student out—free amazon prime shipping for a year. It sounds too good to be true, but it's legit. I heard about it just before I graduated this year and have been using it with no problems since.

Woodct, The only thing I can tell you is I ordered mine from Adorama on 10-4 and received it 3 days ago December 21st. I will say this I have just really strted to play with it tonight and the ISO performance, Fast focus, SOLID construction, are my three favorite things about the camera. I had a D90. They look and even feel a lot alike, but that is where it ends. This camera has seriously got to be one of the best Bang-for-the-buck cameras. So... hang in there. I get the feeling general availablity is just around the corner.

I ordered a D7000 from Adorama on 27 October and my order still shows pending. Kind of silly. I ordered the Epson R2880 at the same time to take advantage of the $450 rebate so I am kind of stuck or else I would order from somewhere else.

I received mine from Amazon on the 28th and cancelled my Adorama order. It won't help you javabuddha since I ordered after you, but it should help those that ordered after Nov 26.

Debating ordering the D7000 body from Amazon. I don't mind the wait. Currently have the D3100 which is an excellent camera, but looking for better low light performance. Currently have the 35mm f1.8 and 18-105mm lens which have been great to use.

I ordered on Dec 1st and haven´t recived yet. But i did notice that the price is around 90$ higher now then when i bought it and the sd memory card has also been upped by 45 cent. Kinda funny because the only reason i looked at the memory card price was because i recived an e-mail from Adorama that they were on sale so i expected lower prices but they were actually higher.
