Well, after 1 month of waiting for the little 7000 (from Adorama), I contacted Best Buy in Indianapolis and drove up there and picked it up. It was the lens kit and sales tax, but what the heck (one in the hand... beats 2 in the bush)!

OK I've cleaned up this thread and have banned several members for spamming it. Once again DO NOT post direct links, phone numbers, sales people's names and email addresses of vendors with the D7000 supposedly in stock. I think this thread has run it's course and I'm debating whether to close it already because of the spam.
Nikon is a relatively small company and they can't keep up with demand for this hot item. So if you want a D7000 NOW then you'll just have to wait. When the D7000 was announced I said it would probably be until January 2011 before the D7000 would be readily available. If you are desperate for a D7000 then be wary of vendors claiming to be full of stock and ready to take your credit card number.

AMAZON has BODY ONLY in stock... right NOW!!!
Kits are coming Dec 6thPosted 2 years ago # -
When I was in Best Buy over the weekend, I noticed that they had a spot for the D7000 for display, but no camera. I asked one of the sales associates if they had the display to check out, and she opened up another cabinet where they were keeping the camera - it had a sticker on it that it labeled it a display unit. The battery was pretty much dead, so I couldn't even turn it on and play with the AF, but I wanted to put it in my hand to see how it felt. Then she asked if I was interested in the camera, to which I said yes, and then she proceeded to grab an un-opened D7000 kit box! She said it was their last one (besides the display model). Before I went to the store, I actually checked to see if they had it in stock, and they indicated that it was not at that store that I went to (I was there to pick up some other things). I guess I just got lucky :)

Is there a database or discussion to track the serial number of the D7000 in order to find if Nikon already solved the hotpixel issue in this new shipments?
Thank you,
Alfonso

Amazon shipped my Nikon EN-EL15 Rechargeable Battery for the D7000. Not sure if this is news...

My local camera store (in charlotte) got some in today! I was on a call list for when they got them in, and the guy at the store said they'd probably be sold out before the end of the day. Crazy! Glad I got mine on my lunch break! Excited to try it out!

Holy smokes...ordered on Amazon 10/19. Found one at a local store about a month ago. Just go an email the two days ago from Amazon that my order was getting ready to ship. I couldnt cancel yesterday and it arrived today. D@mn now I have two when I couldn't find one for the life of me 3 weeks ago.

Gave up on waiting for Adorama and received my D7000 kit from Best Buy yesterday. My boss, coworkers and even the UPS guy were almost as excited as I was (although maybe just so they would not have to listen to me pining for it anymore). Snapped a few test shots yesterday and am off to a wrestling tournament to give it a real test drive today!

It really seems like Adorama and B&H were screwed out of supply for the D7000. Best Buy still advertises a 3-5 day wait.

Drat. Amazon UK have been out of stock of body only for the last month. I've had an order in place since the middle of November. I checked the site today and suddenly they've got some in stock, BUT they failed to ship my order. I rang them and their customer service person was hopeless confused, first trying to blame it on my credit card provider, then saying my order was placed through a different distribution centre or something.
Basically what it boils down to is that if someone had gone on to Amazon earlier today and ordered it, they would have had their order fulfilled, but people like me who placed their orders three weeks ago get nothing!
This was stock ordered through Amazon, not a market place reseller, and the product was in stock and sold by Amazon, so there's no reason why they shouldn't have shipped it.
Of course, the remaining stock at Amazon UK sold out during the course of lunchtime, so there is now no longer any Amazon UK body only stock, and my order remains unfulfilled. This is the first time in eight or nine years of ordering from Amazon where they've seriously let me down.

Just out of curiousity and if anyone is still following this thread, has anyone been able to purchase a D7000 from Bestbuy and NOT have the pixels issue. Only reason I ask because it seems that Bestbuy is the only retailer that constantly has these in stock, but never sells out. Are people avoiding purchase there altogether- btw I'm one return in and contemplating trying my luck again.
Posted 2 years ago # -
Follow up question and also a stock update, Walmart has these in stock and they haven't sold out either- are people avoiding them too?
Posted 2 years ago # -
I don't know if it's avoidance. I just think the average consumer is somewhat psychologically wired to flock to the other major brand. I've taken my Nikon to 2 or 3 school/family events since I've had it and the average DSLR you see is Canon - yet I catch those people looking at me with that certain look of wonder, awe, interest, curiosity, what is that?, etc. - because I'm the only one without the red and blue strap around my neck.

Walmart's website currently list the D7000 as sold out. Only 1 of the 4 Bestbuys in my area has a D7000 in stock. I think you guys are reading too much into things.

Not reading too much into things...just skeptical, especially here in New York where we're all on top of every detail, you can't help but wonder if no ones buying that one d7k in stock at rego park that has been there for a week, perhaps someone has already tested it out and it has the pixel problem. Of course Walmart is sold out now...

I'd be more worried about bedbugs if I was in New York rather than think of every thing that could possibly be wrong with the one D7000 sitting on a store shelf ;^)

They were in stock all day while I was at work yesterday. Again just skeptical like most NY'ers are. When you are not in the "know" about something I guess you tend to be paranoid about pulling that $1600.00 trigger. This is a great forum and I've found myself passionate about something again - hence the excitement.

Ok, for the sake of accuracy, Walmart has this in stock right now 9:37 am EST. Guaranteed delivery before 12/24. Hope this helps someone.

I ordered D7000 with Epson R1900 for rebate, on Nov 1. I have no cue when it will be shipped. Anyway, who has a experience for rebate with Epson if we have not receive the camera to fill the rebate form. It is $450 rebate...
Thanks in advancePosted 2 years ago # -
Received shipping email for my D7000 body only from B&H December 6th, ordered and paid for on September 26th, paid $1199.95 plus shipping, 3 day UPS shipping, should be here on December 9th.

My returned D7000 kit just reached B&H. I'm changing my replacement order to body only (and added Tokina 11-16/2.8). Hoping they'll put me in the Body Only queue since it's an RMA. Any info on when B&H would be expecting to take and fulfill more orders?

Most of the entry cameras I see at my kid's school events are Canon 2Ti's with kit lenses. I think the average consumer is psychologically wired to find what they think is the best value and most features in the <$800 price range.

Does any have any idea when Adorama will get it D7000 body only shipment. I ordered online on November 23 and still waiting.......
