AF Nikkor 85mm f/1.8Posted 2 years ago # -
Love the vertebrae, elvis. It looks like an owl skull or an alien skull like Regulator suggested. Were there any other parts of the whale?

@poster Thanks for your input on the vignette. This leads me to wonder how much photo manipulation is too much? What do others think? Where do you draw the line to creativity?Posted 2 years ago # -
Framer........Great shot! I've been surfing the net and can't find that racing team. The driver is Dick Brooks but do you know who his pit crew was?

Framer are you sure the photo isn't from 1969 or 1970? The Number 32 car didn't run at the Firecraker 400 in 1971. Bland I believe Richard Brooks was the driver and owner of this team. The sponsor for the number 32 Plymouth in 1969 and 1970 was Bestline Products. By the way at the NASCAR Hall of Fame they've got a Nikon F3/T on display along with T. Warren's black and yellow shooting vest. He was the grandfather of NASCAR photography and a Nikon fan :^)

Thanks for the info Niko and I believe you're correct about the year because I think the Superbird was outlawed after the 1970 season. Framer if you got anymore old NASCAR shots I'd really enjoy seeing them and I'm sure NASCAR would like to see them as well. That picture is truly worthy of being in the new NASCAR Hall of Fame.

@squamish Just a vertebrae. I don't think the wharf had enough room for much more of it. I would have liked to see the skull.

One of many quaint buildings I've seen on my Nova Scotia trip. There are so many I think I've become desensitized to their simple beauty.

I believe I was wrong on the 1971 date it was 1970. I only have a few images, I'll scan other shortly. I kid you not, my 1st wife and ex-wife threw out about 5000 transparancies maybe more I took between age 0 and age 32. I only have a small box with maybe 100 images from that period, 7 or 8 from that race. I was there covering the Patick AFB Band that performed there that day.
You guys are good.
More later,

This lamp was designed by Dion Brake of Como Designs - http://www.comodesigns.com/
It's an exceptional piece of art and I was lucky enough to photograph it during the evening hours.
Seen at 35mm at f/3.5 (Handheld)
