jcvert1, I love that one!
Shooting raw (NEF) really gives you flexibility. The street light are sodium (I think) very yellow and the white balance turns it back into white.
@Monty Cool! 2.5 Month exposure, that sure puts into perspective frame rates, fast memory cards, shutter speed, fast lens, etc.
Thanks every 1 for the nice comments, i saw a article about photo perspective and they had a bunch of really cool pics on there, there was 1 like the 1 i shot so i figured i would give it a try. i like they way mine turned out. i also found out that its hard to shoot animals some times, i mean photograph ha ha.
Wonderful image monty. I actually saw that for the first time today and was about to research into that. Is it usually a 2.5 month exposure?

Monty how do your "cameras" not get stolen or thrown away as trash for such long periods of time just sitting there?
I just went back thru all 15 pages posted this month. What an awesome collection of shots. You guys really have a lot of talent.
It's not about the photographer's talent Ron. It's all about the camera. The more money you spend on gear the better your pictures :^)
It's true just ask adamz. He had to get a D3S to beat my iphone pics :^)

Well most of the cameras are in secure places. This one wasn't and its siblig nearby got dismantled so I decided to take this one down now instead of waiting until the winter solstice. I'm pleased with the decision though :)

Well the exposures can be for anywhere from a day to six months ... one day will leave you with a single stripe and six months from summer to winter solstice (or the other way round) will leave you with the full set of sun tracks. The learning process for this type of photography takes quite a while as the exposures are so long. So if you plan to do it, start off with 20+ cameras in different locations and keep them up for different lengths of time.
Not to stray too much from the thread subject:

Niko, if only I could see Your iphone pictures :), well forget iphone pictures, wouldn't mind to see any of Your pictures. Wait, just seen one, checked the July NGM article about Evolutionary Road :^)
All my photos are "Not Safe For Work" but if you want to see them I'll have to charge you $29.99 to access high resolution pics on my website :^)
Perhaps we should start a "Photo-A-Half-Year" thread for those very long exposures, Niko would be busy ensuring we all behave and not post more than twice a year and exactly 6 months apart ;~)
That is amazing, Pierre!
Where is this and what is it exactly?
If I had to guess I'd say foggy streetlights, rotated so the horizon is vertical and reflected in post processing. Am I close, Pierre? It's true that it's awesome.
