He makes $500 to $1000 dollars PER PHOTO

Good for him!
I have a friend who is a paparazzi as well. The most he ever made was like $100. Which I suppose doesn't really make him "good" in his profession. Anyway, I can't see myself "star chasing" throughout the city.
$500 to $1000 PER PHOTO?? As another 14 year old photographer, I'm a mixture of envious and a little pissed off. ;) To be honest I don't think this guy deserves that much attention for running around chasing and harassing people, although I'm definitely bias. Maybe I could get my own documentary, although documenting the worlds nature and wildlife wouldn't get nearly as many views as this guy gets....
I guess the important question here is, how many photos does he on average sell in a week. Divide that by the numbers of hours he worked/chased around the town. And I wonder what his check looks like.
@photokid: Took a look at the images on your blog. You've got a: a good eye, and b: nothing to feel envious about. Between the two of you (ie. you and the paparazzo), my money'd be on you for career longevity if you decide to go the professional route.
Lol you aren't going to believe this, about 1 week ago Adrian Grenier came to BU and showed this movie to a big crowed of us. We got to take pictures of him beforehand (newspaper privelages) The film was actually pretty good, pretty entertaining and brought up a lot of interesting discussion points.

my girlfriend took that picture, hah.
he's a lot older looking (obviously) now. They show him at the end of the movie, he's grown a lot it's strange to see. He's also not 13 anymore, so this is all kind of old news, the picture on his site is an old one too, he's like 17 or 18 now.
@aslightdelay: Thanks! My ultimate goal is to become a proffesional when i get older. I just hope the term "proffesional photographer" is still around in 10 years...
I'm sure it will. Quality will out. :) Also keep working on the writing... if you can do both -- well -- it's another way to set yourself apart.
I watched it on HBO the other night. Grenier had to be working on that for some time. The kid was 14 when he started, around 17 by the end and I'm sure he is 18-19 now.
It is a great documentary and interesting the whole way through. The focus starts with Grenier just wanting to see the other side and by the end turns into something he never expected.
It is allot more than any of the clips suggest.

+1
My best to you, photokid.
