I have been searching for a pdf D7000 user's manual. I don't see it on Nikon's webiste yet. There must be a copy floating around somewhere by now. I have the camera on pre-order and would love to read the manual prior to its arrival next month.

agreed, i have a google alert on "Nikon D7000" in anticipation.
anyone remember what the availability is for documentation?
Is the manual for the D3100 out?

A lot of the same stuff is in the D300S so you could try reading that.

You can already find the Japanese version here : http://www.nikon-image.com/support/manual/d_slr/D7000_NT(10)02.pdf
You can easily understand figures, and see that Nikon now propose 12 or 14 bits NEF, either lossy or lossless compression. But no more uncompressed, which is good in my opinion.

Note: Japanese PDF file is 24 Megs big and IMHO not worth the download, wait till a English language one shows up.

Thanks for the Japanese version. At least I can look at the pictures. It gives me something to do while waiting for new camera to arrive.

i just purchased the D7000 (wooohooo). I live in Switzerland so the paper manuals that arrived with it are in German, French and Italian which are not a great help. In the past with my coolpix and the D3100, I downloaded and saved a copy of the manual on my hard drive for reference. Now it seems that I can download the manual but I can not save it....which really defeats the purpose. Anyone have any experience here. The website says that to save it you need to have a US serial number. Again not much help. Appreciate any advice.

run a google search for : D7000 manual
you can even get a printable version, if you have a laser printer that is.
