If the price is anything like the non-OS version, it will be out of reach for a lot of people, since it was over $3000.

And Sigma's prices certainly haven't been going down with its latest lenses.

Maybe this will kill the used prices for the old version :P.

I would expect the price to be around $4k, which is a lot, but if they manage to improve IQ than it will be a good competitor for the old nikon 300/2.8 vr, especially that You will be able to put filters on the front glass (btw: hopefully they will sell it with pol-cir and uv filter)

Yeah, it is an attractive lens in terms of specs and focal range. The price and Sigma's not to so hot track record would make me lean towards the 200-400mm F4 VR2, even if it is more expensive and slower.

    Refresh announced already.
    ???
I have read pretty good things about the original--wonder if the original's price will drop?

I was surprised at the refresh. I wonder how they compare. Not a lens I can imagine getting any time soon... would like a tilt-shift and a full frame 35mm prime first, but it sure is an interesting lens.

It uses the same optical formula, it just has a new and improved outer finish.
