How many have sold their camera loot on ebay?
hahaha I bet he's from Nigeria.
Let's not advertise this guy's sale Shiva. Besides once the auction ends it'll be a dead link taking up space here anyway. But yeah $300 dollars is a bit much for a camera that's scratched and banged up like that one. That would be the price for a well kept almost new D1.
Here you guys can laugh at the description:
Hello:
Thank you for looking at this "fine" camera and "great" lens. The house cleaning continues. The Nikon D1X is a fantastic, rugged professional camera. It has an unknown amount of shutter actuations. As you can see in the pictures, it is in lousy condition. It is missing the door rubber, other rubber needs to be glued, and it has dings and scratches. It just came back from a "mirror return" repair. About 50 shots were taken to make sure that the repair worked. It is working, and, though sold "AS IS", is only guaranteed not to arrive DOA, i.e. it will power up. Between the camera potential issues and the lens problems, the low price is justified. It will autofocus with any Nikon F-mount AF lens. This really broadens your choice of lenses from more current models such as the D40. Plus it will allow you to meter and focus with manual focus AI lenses. Those great older Nikkor lenses provide great digital pictures. It comes with:
- Nikkor AF 35-70mm f/2.8 D lens with 62mm UV filter - this lens is in horrible shape with scratches on both front and rear elements!!! Somehow, however, it still takes pretty good pictures!!! See the cane stool pictures - How can this be???
- one Nikon 2000mAh battery, awful at holding a charge (new batteries are about $25 each - you should buy two!!!)
- an EC-553 All Chemistry battery charger
- a 128 MB compact flash card
That is – everything you need to start taking "great" pictures.

Everything will be carefully packed so that it arrives safely.
The fee for International bidders covers insurance and tracking for full value. They are also responsible for all duties and fees. Depending on your country and choice of carrier, a deposit may be required until everything is cleared. If you are not happy with the estimated shipping charges, please do not bid. As of February, 2010 the United States Postal Service has steeply increased the rates for International shipping. Properly packing the camera and lenses to ensure safe delivery increases the size of the package. Packing improperly increases the chances of damage. Neither of us wants anything to arrive damaged.
Thank you for looking!"
