Okay so what's your most probable time when the replacements of D300s( if D7000 isn't already it), D700, will come out?
Anytime this year?
I have a feeling that D7000 has replaced D300s line of cameras and an affordable FX camera D400/D900 will fill in the segment left by the D300s and then will have higher up D4s and etc. Does my reasoning make sense?
Didn't Nikon rumors already say how many cameras Nikon would release this year? It was three or four wasn't it? So far we've had the D3100 and the D7000. So that just leaves the D700 replacement and the market surprising EVIL camera everyone keeps talking about.
I doubt we'll see any more cameras this year. I suspect we wont see anything till February at the next big photography trade show.
Good point but that's just this year. So after the New Years we can see something new really soon.
I am just wondering if D700 replacment will become a an affordable FX camera at the pricepoint of the older D300 cameras. I think it's about time. It would really shake up the market, and Nikon would be very successful with that. I know that I would be getting one asap if it were true.
The Nikon EVIL I think will come out probably next year, (think June/July). Just a gut feeling.

I am trying to see if it's still worth it for me to get D7000 if a possibility of an affordable FX camera coming out really in few months.
I think we will see a lower cost FX body, but at the D300s price point, is rather unlikely. The FX sensors alone costs almost as much as the D7000. We might see a $2500 introductory price for a low cost FX body, which would in tern mean selling for around $2300.
On September 8th the Admin mentioned there may be another announcement next week from Nikon? There was no other mention of since. Has anyone else heard of anything? It would not surprise me if we got the EVIL system then.
Everyone always says wait for February PMA and Nikon never announces shit there. First it was the BIG EVENT that got hyped and turned out to be a free rock concert by some hippie band. Then it was said that the D700 was going to get replaced at this years PMA and a big fat nothing happened there too.
any idea when the D4 is rumored to be released next year? or if the D700 replacement? in Q1 or Q2?
FWIW, Thom Hogan had predicted a D700 replacement will be announced in November 2010.

Nikon's body releases run almost 2 years to the month. I would guess a D700 (r. 2008) is ready for an update yet this year with a D300s update mid to late next year. D4/s/x at least a year away.
Affordable FX? Depends what your definition if affordable is. :) I'm guessing another $2500 which is around the Canon 5d II's price maybe less if the pixels are lower than 20+ but not much.
Despite what most people think there is no Nikon replacement timeline really. The D700 was announce in July 2008 so it's over 2 years old now. The D300 was replaced last year in July. The D3S will be barely a year old in October. The D3X will be two in December so there might be a "D4X" replacing it. The "D4H" is most likely over a year away. The canon 5Dmk3 was rumored for the end of the year or early next year too. The next round of pro bodies are going to be megapixel monsters!
The term "affordable" full frame means under $2000USD. Sony already proved a full frame at that price can be done. The lower the price of the full frame camera the more of these new FX lenses they will sell.
