Hey guys. I'm not sure if this information is posted, but I'll post anyways and if you tell me to remove it, I will. I go to this widely known korean DSLR forum called "SLR CLUB" and this one guy, who's well-known for somewhat accurate forecast of future nikon stuff, posted that there will be a Flagship DX DSLR comming. It will have vertical grip integrated, just like the D3, D3X, and D3S.
This is just another rumor so I'm not very sure if this would be correct but I think it's fun to know.

(FYI, this guy also accurately forecasted that D7000 will be announced this month!)

I think a blind man on a Sterno bender could have "forecast" the D7000 would be released this month, depending on when the prediction was made. When did he make the forecast?

Unless I'm reading it wrong the post says 8-26-2010. Which means that guy got his info from nikon rumors. Thom Hogan has been predicting a D9000 for about two years already. I don't see anything on that page that says D9000 though.

Yeah, I was going to post this long time ago but I was busy with my stuff and forgot about it :(.... Sorry for posting this late. And on the last bullet it talks about it. It just says that it will have vertical grip integrated. We'll see what happens with the flagship DX :)

I hope Nikon perforce debut another rugged professional DX camera. DX isn't a bad name simply because FF cameras are out. I used a D2X the other day realising that its 12MP sensor, rugged body, and price were the penultimate DX rugged professional camera and that in 2005-6; the market seems to have abandoned very high end DX since then but that doesn't mean that there aren't people who'd buy them. A good-performing high end DX camera at a small/medium discount to its rugged professional FF cousins would be great for birders and others who rely on reach.

Who knows what'll happen, but I sure would like to see a D2X follow up.
