I am in the process of buying a new camera for my wife (old Fuji Finepix just stopped working). There are two key attributes that she would like: a decent zoom (+ 5 x) and a rear display that is more visible in the sun. I think the S8000 looks to be the best option however I do not like the pop up flash...seems like it pops up right where you would be trying to hold the camera. A couple of questions: Is the pop up flash a pain? I see the pixel density on the S8000 is A LOT higher than the S6000. I am better that the display will be more readable in the sun. Am I right?
