Hello, I have been offered a job to shoot interiors of new home construction because they have seen my work in other "for fun" real estate shoots.

I currently have a D90 and have rented a 10-24MM DX to do my work before but now I am thinking of just buying a lens because this will lead to more jobs. My dilemma is should I buy the 10-24MM or invest in the 14-24MM 2.8 will I miss that extra 5MM difference or does that extra 5MM just add the distortion I am trying to get rid of in Lightroom? Also should I look into tilt-shift lens?

I have used the 14-24MM in the past and found it amazing but I would like someone who may have done this type of work or is currently doing it. Also PM me on what type of money I should be charging?

I plan on shooting in natural light, trying to use incandescent bulbs where I can and some slight HDR.

    Thank you in advance all!

Yes you will miss that 4 mm.. at 10mm you can stand in the corner of a room and get the whole room as it is greater than 90 degrees.

Looking at the comparisons I am looking at a 90 vs 109 degree angle in DX. I just know that I will end up with FX camera sooner rather than later and trying to convince myself that the 14-24MM would be a better investment. But for what they need the DX 10MM is looking like the winner. Bright-side I can save about $1000. :)

Or, consider the Tokina 11-16. It's a great lens and supposedly works as a 16mm prime on FX (I don't have FX to try it, though). There are lots of threads discussing ultrawide angle lenses. For example,

Note that the angles quoted are diagonal so the horizontal angle as quite a bit less.. however the 10mm lens does manage to squeeze in 90 degress horizontally. which for real estate photography, is a magic number.
