SOLD!!!!!

It's the second time for me, the first being the D300 and I never regretted that decision. I've got a good feeling about this.
I am so excited for the video feature. And the micro adjustment! Now I don't have to worry about getting a front/back focusing lens from Sigma or Tokina.
So, am I missing something about preordering? I thought someone said there are links on the blog to preorder, but I'm not seeing them.
I finally finished reading Dpreviews review.
This is an amazing camera and at an amazing price.
I have never been able to actually afford something on release.
This camera is so awesome. I'm in love.
I'll bet you $100 bucks you never use the micro adjustment more than say twice the entire time you own the camera Poster! And those two times will probably be the same night you get it :^)
I hope they don't get rid of that line. I like the larger more sturdy body personally and I have large hands with long fingers.jonnyapple said:
Look, alls I'm saying is that with AF fine tune, 100% viewfinder coverage, AI lens metering, and basically every other feature that I missed on my D300 (and some I didn't, really), it looks to me as if Nikon might have just closed down the DX D### line as we know it. I think we'll see something like a cheap camera with a full frame sensor or a pro-like body with a DX sensor in it instead of just a D400 that's an evolved D300s. I could be wrong.
I'm a little confused jonny when you say that you miss the AF fine tuning on your D300. I see that option in mine.
How is the D7000 not a sturdy body?
When do you think we can start pre-ordering it?
Really?
After my fiasco with Sigma 50 1.4, I never would consider getting Sigma because of the back/front focus issues. The fact that is also meters ai-s lenses is awesome. Most importantly I can't wait to start playing with the video!!!
Not to rain on the parade, but is that rumored $1200US body only price realistic? I see that it says it will ship with the 18-105 for £1299. That's US$2000. That lens is only US$350. I'm hoping that dpreview typo that says $699, isn't really supposed to be $1699.
You guys better just start pitching your tents outside B&H now :^)
I seriously think that some of you won't get your hands on this camera until maybe December if not January! I really think it's going to be a hot seller, obviously.
The $1199 price isn't a rumor... that's the price for the body only. With the 18-105mm lens it'll be $1499 in USD.

I guess that wasn't very clear, Gentoo. I said that because my D300 was stolen. But honestly I haven't missed the AF fine tune.
I just saw on nikon's specs page that the mic jack is stereo. I can go to sleep a very happy man now (if I can sleep). Nighty night, all.
where are you seeing $2000 for the kit? Is that dollars? It's "officially" $1199 body only and $1499 with the kit. Trust me I knows dis.
Thanks for the tip, Workodactyl. I've got mine on order (2-day shipping). I very nearly ordered a D700 on accident.

$1,199.95 for body. $1,499.95 with 18-105. Personally, I can find the 18-105 for less than 300, if I try hard. Overall a good deal. But I don't really like the 18-105 all too much. I think I'm gonna save towards a 55-200 or 55-300. And save me 18-55 for walking around :)
wow, I just pre-ordered.

the press release on dpreview states with the kit it will be £1299 which converts to US$2k.
and I know it now, too. Just pre-ordered!

Haha me too. I actually had a D300s in my cart already if things went south for the D7k. and almost bought both. I saw my quote at 2,493.. something and I was like "Wuh-oh" haha.
