When will the pre-order links pop up? Tonight?
I believe this camera will break all sorts of pre-order records for vendors. So if you want one soon goodluck getting it. Especially since you'll not only be fighting other Nikon users but also canon, Sony, Pentax, and Olympus users for one :^)
And I'd also like to say a big WELCOME to all of you canon users who are secretly here tonight. It's OK you can cry we all understand.
...and this is pretty much entry level, maybe a step above. Wonder what the semi pro level will offer?
Not every accessory will always fit every future camera indefinitely. There will be new accessories don't worry.

I just want to give a hand to Admin and all collaborating sources. They were pretty spot on with the rumors and did a hell of a job not letting it get out of control.
This rig looks as good as I expected and I expected this might be my camera from day 1. I don't think I'll opt for kit, but I'll definitely preorder the Body tonight and maybe that sexy lower end battery supply and vertical grip.

Oh, i have another question. Anyone have an idea how this compares to the 7d. The specs i see, seem to be rather close, in some regards.

Look, alls I'm saying is that with AF fine tune, 100% viewfinder coverage, AI lens metering, and basically every other feature that I missed on my D300 (and some I didn't, really), it looks to me as if Nikon might have just closed down the DX D### line as we know it. I think we'll see something like a cheap camera with a full frame sensor or a pro-like body with a DX sensor in it instead of just a D400 that's an evolved D300s. I could be wrong.
Wait so does it have the micro adjustment or not? This might be the deal breaker for me.
