yes it does have AF motor and yes that's a typo it's $1199 body only

It does have the in-camera AF screw and also does AI lens metering.

man dpr review, that's the most painful typo I've ever seen. How would they manage to get the price wrong for all 3 currencies and no one catch it though?

IT'S $1199 Dpreview just copy pasted

The 2,016-pixel RGB metering is just awesome!

So now, who still says the D300S is worth $1800?

Come On D400 full frame! ;^)

I'd been considering the D90 instead of the 7000... now that I'm seeing all the specs -- real, this time -- I think I'll end up biting the bullet and getting the 7000. It's too good to pass up.

I am still convinced after reading the specs that this is meant to replace the D300s and the D90.

I'm loving that mic input. The days of syncing my external audio may be over.

where can i preorder so i can get to bed? I'm thinking amazon, but from a review on the 55-300, preorders didn't get shipped first, as they were marked "order now and will be delivered tomorrow" before preorders were filled.

I can't believe that. It breaks too many accessories (nearly all of them) to be an upgrade to the D300. The only argument I see one could make in that regard is perhaps the D300s was supposed to ween us from CF to SD, but that's a thin argument.
