I'm just so upset after watching this D70 needlessly tortured!!!!!

I found that extremely funny for some reason, although more so when the Canon was under fire. I was surprised that they both made it through all those tests.

    Agreed, on both counts.

That was the photographer's equivalent of watching a groin kick montage from "America's Funniest Videos". :P

You fast forward too much hearty. They show him re-inserting the batteries after one of the "test". I'm sure they just edited that part out of all of the flame "test".

Funny, a lot of abuse to the lenses as well though and some of the cheaper lenses will not hold up I'm sure. Imagine the 50mm 1.8 under these circumstances?

    That was retarted!

Trust me. I could kill any camera with a puff of air. It's really not that hard to kill a camera. I did like the hammer and nail with lens!!!

Was it sold on feabay discribed as in mint ccondition after the video?

Yeah the nail test was a gas. The 18-70mm kit (I'm assuming that is what it was) sure proved to be tougher than the 18-55mm IS.

You know Ive done almost all of the "tests" unintentionally to my D90... and it still works. I still need new rubbers though.

Ha so you guys were wondering what the pictures from these tortured cameras would look like? Well they've made a part II video and show off some photos taken with each camera. They also try to take the cameras back to Nikon and canon for repairs!

Niko, I'm sure you feel completely justified for deleting all those threads from people saying, "Oh no! My brand new $2500 lens has [gasp!] a speck of dust on one of the elements. What should I do?"

And you should feel justified. Long live The Terminator! Maybe you should post this in the "Using a lens with no filter on it" thread, as well. I don't think most people would class 'Hammering nails into a board' as use, though. ;-)

I did post a link to this in the "using a lens with no filter on it" thread. I like it when people justify purchasing expensive filters by showing pics of a shattered filter and saying, "you see it protected my lens from shattering". No you just wasted good money on a "UV" filter that's frail and shatters easily when you could have used your bare lens to hammer in nails!
