So we've covered DIY equipment. I'm curious what the most unusual piece of equipment is that you carry/use. I'm reminded of this because I remember using pantyhose on a 35mm lens to get a nice soft focus effect (as an added bonus, if you ever need to hold up a bank...) Anybody have similar tips/ideas?

homemade 16inch ring light, which I still haven't figured out how to power a ballast portably, like in my pocket. :)

@niko: I've never had reason to make my own pantyhose. :)
@ar: Your own design, or something you found online?

Wet celery and a flying helmet, sometimes also an egg whisk. :D

Do pipecleaners for macro shots count? I also have a Stepping Stone Lightning Trigger for lightning and thunder storms. Anyone else have any cool stuff in their packs? I bet there must be some funky macro ring flash setups at the very least on this forum.

The light triggers look cool. Do you have any shots with it that you can share?

Nice shot, Kanuck!
Monty, a beer can camera sounds nice. Do they work like beer goggles, but you can play back the image of beauty when you sober up in bed with her?

I've mentioned it before, but my ancient Nikkor UD 20mm/3.5 is easily the most exotic piece of gear I carry. My father had it modified by Marty Forscher, a tech guru who owned Professional Camera in NYC years and years ago. With the modified focusing helical, it focuses from infinity down to macro distances (about 3 inches from the front element). It's a one of a kind lens, as far as I know only two 20mm lenses exist with this modification, the other belonging to photographer Pete Turner, who my father worked with back in the 70's.

anjz, at the moment the playback feature is disabled. It is pretty much WYSIWYG.

HA HA! Good one. Hopefully the replacement version will fix that. Is there a B.C. Rumors site?
