Bland I doubt that's the best photo you've ever taken with your D90.
It was the most talked about. lol
I've changed the photo to my best with the D90.
where there’s smoke there’s forum fire

jonnyapple, that is the Hogan's Heroes of nature photography. Hilarious.
Thanks, Andrew. It wasn't a funny ending for mouse lovers... ;-)
I forgot to mention it was with a 50 1.8, I think (too lazy to look it up as I'm on my iPod).
ja - it was only seconds ago I've realized there's a mouse on Your picture - nice timing BTW :)
I am glad that I purchased mine I will have it for a bit before I upgrade. I kind of knew that one was coming but I feel this will do me well for my personal use for a bit. I love the features. This also means that accessories will go down a little for a discontinued camera.

Hey, I don't see you making a thread for the D3.
:D
The D70 was replaced four years ago and the D3 got replaced a year ago. I think I started a tradition though so we'll try to do this for all future models.
So should I start a "D3X Farewell Homage" or a "D700 Farewell Homage" thread next? ;^)
Still this D90 homage thread is a bit premature.. dont you think? LOL It should actually be replaced before we have a "homage"! :-)
Why is it premature? The D90 is already showing up as a clearance item in some stores. Once the replacement is announced I'll start a "Nikon DXXXX Box Opening Pics!" or a "Self Portraits with Your New Nikon DXXXX". Oh and I can't wait for the first "Nikon DXXXX Sucks I'm Switching To Pentax" or the "Nikon DXXXX Problem" threads.
So We should have a D300S homage as well as a D700 Homage .. seeing the rumours is that those are being replaced as well ! LOL .. oh and what about the D3000 homage.. that's definitely in the rumour mill ! That only leaves the D3S and D3X .. I am sure I heard that they are being replaced too ... ;-)
PS: oh I missed out the D5000.. Is it going to be replaced?

Well look at where its closest canon counterpart is... the 50D. At Costco both were the top of the line models that Costco sold there now both are hard to find and there is no test display for either. In face the 50D got pulled from the Costco lineup a few weeks ago... At best buy both are downplayed by the newer and higher class 7D and D300s. Target and Sears don't even sell them as their highest cameras are the t2i and D5000...
But the D90 supply is listed as "clearance" with at least one major photographic retailer.
So what happen to all of the "tribute" pictures of the D90? Too much "Porky-Pigging" and not enough pictures. After always recommending the D90 to everyone and their mother who starts a "Which should I buy..." thread, I'd expect this thread to be filled with at least 7 pages of great photos by now ;^)
Oh yeah and there's only been ONE photo with the D90 35mm f1.8 combo. Just say'n cause you guys always that's the only lens anyone will ever need.
Although I have a D300s, I still find myself reaching for the D90. It's the most comfortable camera I've owned...like an extension of my body. My favorite shot taken with the camera has to be the one used on the cover of my book, SHOOT TO THRILL:

Long live the D90!
So many favorites. Hard to pick just one. Oh well, here goes...

70-210 4-5.6 with 2x teleconverter (no exif data)
approx. 180mm (2x), 1/1000 at 5.6 (2x) , ISO 200, contrast boost in PS.
Speaking of the D90 I was at the Us Open (for surfing) yesterday and I only saw 3 D90 out of the sea of D300's and D40's and 2 of the 3 were being used by professionals. Both had media badges and a D3 as their primary and weren't associated with each other... I was the only other D90 shooter there... Plenty of D3's, D300's, D200's, D5000's, and D40's and every other Nikon shooter had a D700 but almost didn't see anything out of the D70, D80, D90 series...
well i just bought my first DSLR 2 weeks ago and it was a D90. I don't know anything about real photography (i had a sony cybershot), but i wanted to learn how to take real photos so i bought the d90. I love it, and i'm learning a lot, so, for me is not farewell :-)
