yet another chicago pic, although I guess this is the first thing I'm posting close to a city shot.

edit: wow this is really dark with black around it. I lost a lot of detail in the shadow exporting for flickr as well.

Is Mai the one that passed away a while ago, Hal? That's one pretty cat. Looks like it might be spoiled... ;-)

    Jonny,

No, his brother Tai passed in Feb. Mai passed July 3. We miss them both, they had cancer, but both were wonderful companions for almost 14 years.

    Sorry to hear that, Hal.

Adamz, to go with your kitten photo, a funny story about my brother-in-law who is clueless about kids: when my son was born, he asked, "At what age will his eyes open?"

Okay, so I went out an bought an NEX-5 last night because someone gave me a check for $750 yesterday, and I took it as a sign. ;-)

Here's a slightly tweaked out-of-camera jpg (WB, curves) from this morning. (click for full size) Here's hoping Adobe releases an update to LR3 soon so that it handles the raw files...

    Hotel Awesome:

I shot this from my iphone in San Antonio while picking up my lens from the shop. The HDR program didn't quite get the images lined up which is a shame... it looks great on my phone though. I also uploaded the bright exposure for anyone that wants to see an example of how the iPhone 4 does in lousy exposure conditions... not to shabby for a camera phone really.

I've been really impressed with photos people have been taking with the iPhone. I'm also glad Apple didn't go for the higher MP sensors available or cell phones now.

There are many pics on this page I wish I'd taken, but Noxin's sandy feet put me there. Def don't want to be where Skid was!
