Gotta love Nikon! No other camera company was present at this Car show. They even let me use a 300mm VR prime and 200-400mm VR on my D700 body from up top in the rafters of the show.

I noticed this as well, which i'm a little confused by as I thought I took this with my 50mm 1.4, but it must have been with the 80-200...curious.

    Hey all,
Thought I would introduce you to my GUARD DOG. This little guy visits my window every day. He lets me get close for some interesting shots. I think he was posing for the ladies here.

Thanks! It was taken with my Tamron 90mm f/2.8 lens, it turned out really good I think.

Great shot, regulator. Square crop works perfectly here with your subject. I love the colors. Great treatment on the RR bridge, too. Perfect color for the mood/subject.

Great dragonfly captures, Rob and Stan. Those buggers are hard to get to stop moving.

Studio, on your second on the last page (brunette looking off-camera right), I'd try cropping to portrait orientation because the blue item that's out of focus in the foreground is a little distracting. Nice lighting on that one. Did you have the lens hood tilted wrong on that most recent one or what caused that asymmetric vignetting?

Nice DOF on the croc/alligator (I never know), treckie.

Is Mai the one that passed away a while ago, Hal? That's one pretty cat. Looks like it might be spoiled... ;-)

That's a nice perspective on the candelabra (lightbulbabra?), foofie. I think the distortion makes the door shot more interesting.

A banjo fan, huh, 5stringz? Welcome to the forum and that's a fun start. How did you get your post to show up in the past? ;-)

    Yea, I pick.
I don't know how it posted back there?? Faked me out when I went to view it. I thought I posted here.

Just getting used to this board and the way it works. Will get better as I use it more. I have a few more pix I will load in a few days.

BTW, that shot was with a real odd combination of equipment. None of my new lenses would focus close enough. :-(

I used a D700 with macro tube mounted on an old 180mm f2.8
Had to fool with metering and focus cause nothing in that set up works together. :-)

I tried multiple set ups before I found one that works for that focal length.
55mm macro got me too close to the lizard.
105mm with tube was better, but the 180 gave me plenty of distance while still filling the frame. Had to use the DOF button to meter the exposure. Then I let Lightroom do the rest.

yeah it turned out nicely. whereabouts do you live to have friends like that visiting you?

thanks jonny, i like both of those shots, I'm not sure how I feel about the distortion, it is certainly interesting, more than that thought, i'm just perplexed by it, as I have no idea where it came from, as I haven't noticed it before. how come we haven't seen any pictures from you this month yet? :)

regulator your shots are awesome as always.
